I encountered a few while skimming through the workshop linked through factions, but not of the same standard in stability and cleaniness as GRM and such. Most had the faction name in the ship names, which was quite obnoxious and redundant. They also lacked proper previews in the faction editor of survey ships. I don't think there is or will be much care until a shipset editor shows up. The big talents on the workshop also seems completely unaware of mods and other things that onl

The game will automatically change a faction color if two share the same. While this is a practical auto correction, it might end up looking weird with an all blue faction with red map color.

I believe it's currently not possible or would require more modding effort than would feel necessary. Currently Gauntlet's Race Mod and Galactic Civilizations of New Eden are the mods that will provide a bit more variety, along with shipsets and races. We will probably need to wait for an expansion before it becomes an option.

I am encountering an odd problem. Clan Tiamat, it says, are using an unknown shipstyle on startup but works fine. I am also unable to use one of my custom races as it uses a now unknown colorscheme. Was one removed from the previous version? Luckily, the race was one I downloaded from elsewhere and made only cosmetic changes to, so it was easily restored. There appears to be no cloned file of Tiamat and changing it to the proper shipstyle (which it already got) results in no changes.

Thanks, I have don't have the necessary tools to edit my own so I whenever I make them it usually takes a day each. This helps a lot and some cover appearances I have been thinking of doing. The creepy one with glowing red eyes makes for an interesting unfortunate species of traders that nobody wants to deal with due to their appearances, and the long eared guy will work great for a society based on Platon's aristocracy. Good stuff! I am not that much for the cartoony ones but

Currently shipsets counts as mods, and there is no mod support on the workshop yet. It's been mentioned many times before, so it's probably on a to-do list. If you go to the future ideas subforum you can probably help them hurry things up.
And yes, some factions start with two scouts instead of a colony ship, but have 2.5 more population on their homeworld and a single higher class homeworld in their starting system instead of two lower class planets. Do you think this will be too imbalanced?
I suspected there was some reason behind it as the factions with this made sense. However, I always feel that an empire with two worlds will always beat on

I have run a few tests, and so far I can report this: Good stuff: -It is awesome! -Tested with Gauntlet's Race Mod. Works seamlessly. Minor races appear together with no problems along with the vanilla ones. Bugs: -The new GC3_Strategic_Icons.dds is not updated for the Mega Events dlc as it lacks a space monster icon. I also feel that this is a bit of an iffy thing to change (a base system file) and should be in optional content.
Dunno what you guys are doing that I'm not. I followed the simple installation instructions (3 times) but all the GRM factions are disabled on startup because they have unknown ship styles and appearances.
Have you tried to allow mods in the options menu? Sounds like that is the one thing missing.

Thank you for making that clear. Indeed, I think it was odd the game didn't have a shipstyle editor at launch as that is what Twilight of Arnor had, so when I got the game I felt it was sorely missing. However, the way the game checks mods right now is that everything in the mod folder is a mod, and until a shipstyle editor shows up (patch? expansion? dlc?) we'll have to wait and see.

I agree. Currently, alliances merely assure that they are bound by a treaty to never attack you and being one step towards allied victory. Most often, my allies get pissy on me for being attacked by their warmongering trading partner, completely ignoring our alliance. Just like in Galciv2, the ultimatum of either helping your allies or break the alliance should return as that made a whole lot of sense and made alliances more than glorified non-agression pacts. It also created a dilemma were y

The reason the Kirani got a different colorscheme is because they use a default one, and a minor race was prioritized so the Kirani were given one used by nodoby. I was thinking of commenting first when the next version was done, but heck, here we go. Long time (gc2 era) fan here, and "troggleballs" over at the nexus (a highly unfortunate name that kind of stuck, long story) and I must say I am really looking forward to this just as much as official releases. Whenever a new ship set i

Modded games and unmodded games don't mix. You cannot activate mods when running a vanilla game of what I know. I can agree that the game should rather just refuse to load in the first place and give an error message instead of bugging out. This should be in the support forum, no?

No, I meant that when on the map (the main part of the game, that is) there is a random list of tracks playing. I should have been more clear there. But that is awesome! The best way would to be release it as a music mod without tracks, unless you know some good music that is free to use. Either case, anyone will be able to edit it and it will be awesome.

The Snathi tech-tree isn't necessary for the Scavenge ability other than making it better, right? As in, if I am using a different tech tree, I get the ability on it's base level, but cannot upgrade it? It's a bit important to know. I have had a lot of fun designing factions around the shipstyle, colors, techtree and ability as they make factions even more diverse. Some people might have an issue with the Snathi for being squirrels but are strangely okay with the Thalans (

I don't consider it too much of a problem that custom races are limited to Terran music, if more music can be added to the list. However, it doesn't sound like it is possible at the moment then. Afterall, that would have meant that they put in a "play random track from list X" in multiple categories, which it doesn't seem like they have. But is it possible to add to the lists with multiple tracks, such as map music? However, mods to simply replace the music does then seem

You seem to have taken the criticism a bit hard mate. I think his criticisms can easily be solved by increasing contrast or removing the circle itself. Personally I am very grateful for this resource pack (something I should be writing in nearly every thread but then I'd be here all day). I sort of like that some look similar as I could turn them into different clans and subfactions of a species. That saves in on race pics too! Are you by any chance thinking of making a pa

I like the default music, don't get me wrong. I think however that the battle tracks get a bit old over time as the one you will hear most of the time is the human one as most custom races use TA as a template due to how the "create custom race" button works. I was wondering if someone knew how to make a music mod. I saw one release but that mod is old and no longer seems to work. Preferably, I would like one that can randomly pick tracks so no music in the game nee
