My final ship for the humans I think, it's as complex and detailed as I can probably make for them. Full album Reduced 95% <img src="http://i.imgur.com/q9yC1am.jpg" alt="

It was done without the colors in GC2. Or something very close to it anyway. Looked good.
Something else with the shipyard that would be cool. After being shutdown, and hence that shipyards sponsors focus having been switched elsewhere, it would be real handy that you could easily refocus those sponsors back to military spending without having to go through each of them again. Its rather tedious.
Yup, agree with the OP on both points.
Very similar issues to what i had reported. Though for me at least, the patch seemed to solve it. Still testing. I'll watch this thread with an interested eye though. Core i5 3570k @3.4ghz 16gb gtx 560ti
That's pretty informative, thankyou peteincarey2.
That seems to be a good strategy to me too. Gone are the GC2 days of the invincible super-dreadnought, it would appear (and that is no bad thing IMO). A combined arms approach seems to work better - at least until the AI starts using your own ship designs against you (I love that idea). I've not played with carriers yet, and have no real intention to if I can a
Hey guys, interesting question. I will check in bios, not something i had ever thought to check, to be honest. Good new is though, the patch seemed to fix what ever was going on. I waited till i had a good few days of game play under my belt, same game, but im nearing turn 300 and all without incident since the patch. I have had gpu-z and easy boost running the entire time, and even though the gpu is being taxed, ~ 75% load when playing, its going along quite nicely. Syst
Yeah, i have it again. :( nfi why though...........
Again, depends on whats going on in your game and what you need. If you have 100 def in beam and they come at you with missiles, your screwed. It's not like GC2 where you would still see some protection from that 100 beam against the incoming missile attack. you will have to tailor your ships to suit the needs as they arise. Since balanced ships never seem to work out. (trying to do to much and end up doing nothing at all) Right now, im trying to have only one or two
Fixed in the new patch? I'm not seeing it now.
Dragon. Same exact ram even! I do use onboard sound. Onboard 5.1 is enough for me. A quick google search tells me your card is a 2GB card? I'm as out of touch with amd/radeon gear as you are with Nvidia. I have always likened nvidia/radeon to a chev/ford rivalry. ;) With what Mag, Brad and yourself have said, i am more and more very suspicious of my GPU. I would have thought 1GB was enough. Even with standard clock speeds. I've d/l gpu-z and will fire up the game
I think it's going to be dependent on the game you are playing and it's settings. I haven't got too far into any game so far, but i have observed the Drengin focus on missile, as was i and then late game start to make a switch to kinetic, to offset my huge advantage in missile def. So the AI it seems can adapt. Of course the races tend to focus on differing lines of offense, so having ships than can handle any races is a huge advantage, though not easy to do. I kno
I had found it kinda gets stuck as well, though i was aware this was likely due to out of range. I do not see this issue all the time, but when i do, i click the ship in question, then send it to anywhere in my AOI to get it moving then redirect it straight away to the desired tile, in it's range of course.
You're not alone, i see this as well. I had not picked up about the new tech though.
Mag - Great to see you man! Need to bring the old gang back together...Where is Mumble i wonder? Yeah this is best effort i had made, i have restarted quite a few times, just trying to really nail that early colony rush (still havent, but didnt do too bad this time). The nerfing of the amount of credits your surveyor finds hurts my early game style i think. Still playing it like GC2 ;) Up until i noticed the issue i wasn't scrolling in an out at all, after setting the view
Is anyone else getting severe game slow down around the 100 turn mark? Im only messing about, medium map only a few races, and its on default difficulty and at turn 100, or near enough too, the game has become unplayable, cannot even move the screen about with it taking about 30 seconds to catch up to me, let alone try and move a ship. I'm more or less just learning the game and its differences from GC2, so there really isn't much going on. Checked both CPU and R

Good to see the same service from Brad that i have come to expect after being around Stardock for over 9 years. Nice to see the more things change the more they stay the same. ;)
I believe so. I have noticed that after reloading some techs and all focus techs are greyed out, and not the corresponding tech color. The issue seems to resolve itself after a indeterminate amount of turns after the reload. Sometimes 1 turn, sometimes many. Sounds like the same issue. I'm seeing this just playing through the campaign.
Not a Happy Days fan i take it?
Create our own hulls. All i needed to hear to be a happy camper!! From a pure lore standpoint, the Yor are my favorite race, so i'm glad to see this insight into them and their ships. I have always imagine the Yor to be a GC2 version of the Klikiss Robots (Kevin J Anderson fans know what im saying here). Thanks for sharing this abiessener, the karma train stops for you! :)
Sensors had no play on the fact the minors (and the AI on harder levels) knew where the resources were. This was hard coded, they simply knew. I do agree with the OP though that sensors in GC2 just didn't feel right. I mean, tech up to Sensors IV and build eyes of the universe and your done. I do believe a more passive system should be employed that factor your tech levels and location in space. I do not have a good solution to offer, but i'm sure it's being looke
For 7 years the GC2 forums were haunted by Carrier threads. Lets not subject the GC3 forums to the same treatment.
About a Zillion threads ......
My reaction exactly!! [e digicons]k1[/e]
It's happening with the PM screen as well.
