Yup, seeing the same thing, but only for karma given from the GC3 site. Karma given from other SD sites is as normal.
Neilo
Given those specs, i'd say you will be fine for the most part. Turn down the graphics and limit your playing to the smaller maps (i wouldn't bother with gigantic or immense) and you should get some good game play. I'd say the campaign would be quite ok.
Hey everyone. Excited to see GC3 moving forward!
G'day KP! Great to see you around!
Multiplayer....the only aspect Galac Civ II was missing. HEEEEELSSSSS YESSSSSSSS
Thank frak you didn't say "carriers, the only thing missing from GC2" [e digicons];P[/e]
KP!!!!! Greetings sir!!!
(I seem to recall spending 4+ hours on some turns)
hahahaha 4+ hours sounds like an understatement!!! My major hope in GC3 is that when balancing is required, and it will, that as SS said, it is the AI that is beefed up, not the player who is limited. Here's hoping the game (AI) is suffeciantly well coded that we cant use any of the old tricks!! (and that MP is robust enough
If you have 4GB RAM, i'll wager it will run, but on the larger galaxies it would very, very slow. I had an obsolete laptop (winxp 32bit 1gb) in 2008 that i was running GC2 DA/ToA on with immense galaxies and it played, but took an age to play a turn. if your looking to experience the game Stardock are intending, i foresee disappointment in your future. :)
I will be a foundling, but I hope IF you move the game to steam I won't have to rebuy the game.
Not sure what you mean by "move the game to steam"? The game will be released on Steam. Not via SD Central. I have read nothing about it being released somewhere else other than steam.
There's already crying about the color of one of the spaceships in a screenshot. Whaddya gonna do?
Whats sad is i'm not sure if joking or if the trolls really have gone this far! [e digicons];P[/e]
I hear you, and you are right. Its time to let go of the XP and 32 bit comfort blankets, has been for a long, long time. Stardock have stayed true to the fanbase concern
Oh god, not the carrier debate again! :D I am in favour of them as well though. I really liked designing my own ships, and not just for practical use, i loved designing them, making my own interpretations of famous Sci-Fi vessels and such. Yes, it really could be more intuitive than how it was in GC2, and i'm sure SD are on to that. Plenty of time to sort out shipbuilding. Bring on the Alpha!
Only if you let them Neilo

Now, now. Let's not make Neilo feel too bad!
[e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] Now, obviosuly my statement rings true for 99.8% of the GC2 community. No-one, and i mean no-one can match your colony rush Mag. I've seen it, and it frightened me!!! LOL. Both you guys had a mechanical understanding of the
Well well well - never thought I'd see the day!
Nice to see you around Mag!! Who would of thought we'd get a number 3! I'm not seeing many of the old hands around yet though! Get that PC sorted mate! :) Is it just me or is the 64bit only and steam only crying a bit too much on the forums already? Okay, i get that those two things may alienate some people, but they both have valid and marketable reas
We haven't done a physical release in a long while, and I believe Brad has posted about how we are digital-only.
Yeah, wishful thinking on my behalf. Gotta be some nice art about though for you guys to whip up a jewel case insert? :)
Alright peeps, start uploading Avatars!!!! :p
I'd much prefer Stardock to utilize SD Central for GC3. I have Steam, i use it, i just prefer not to when i can. In all cases i buy a physical version of my games (9 times out of 10 anyway) and i will be more disappointed about the lack of a boxed version than i will be having been forced to use steam. Like i said, Brad could release GC3 on the back of a milk carton and i'd buy it!
Wrong choice of word on my behalf. I meant that SD did not code the game. I should have said SD distributed DG. I was on the Demigod ride, as fantastic and short lived as it was. [e digicons][/e]
Count me in! Iv'e been on the GC ride now for 7 years, looking forward to 7 more!
If you recall there were strategies in GC2 that allowed you to have all the planets in the game (bar 1) within year zero without colonizing more than 1 other planet. Obviously these were extreme game mechanics tested out to the nth degree, but even dialed down, one could be in the top 3 in DA/ToA in year 1 by only colonizing a few worlds. It's all about how you structure your game play. I agree the AI were a machine in the colony rush phase, but on the lesser difficulties
Gotta have some kind of physical edition. I'd hate for my other GC2 titles to be all lonely on the shelf. Island Dog, maybe some kind of jewel case artwork like was done for Twilight?
As pointed out, DG was not a SD produced product, i have no qualms whatsoever about laying down my hard earned and getting a playable game on release. OP, you could always get in early and help craft the game by alpha/beta testing and help ensure the game is released bug free. :)
I'll play it on an old ColecoVision if i have too! :D
No need for tact combat in GC. If you get your ass kicked, you go back and design better ships!
MOTTI!!!!!!! I saw the link to GC3 on GC2 and hit purchase, then nerded out, watched the trailer, nerded out again, read the forums, danced excitedly in front of my baffled missus, watched the trailer again and nerded out once more. [e digicons]:P[/e] The trailer is awesome!, Going to be watching it a few more times i'm sure!
This is fantastic news!! Seeing some old names pop up on the forums i haven't seen in a long time too! Be great to get the band back together!!! I'll have to dust off the 'ole Tyranny of Evil and get us all ready to pillage and plunder!!!
MP has already been announced. And well done Brad for keeping this 4x TBS!!!!!!!
I'd love a non steam version, but it's hardly a deal breaker. I'll use whatever system SD wants if it means i get my hands on GC3! I LOL at the random facts being thrown about though...98% of PC gamers already use steam!!! Nice joke! [e digicons];P[/e]
YES! I'm doing a happy dance...right now..literally as i type!! LOL Within a few weeks i will be another elite founder for sure!!! I'm so glad i happened to glance at the GC2 forums today!!!!!!
