Stardock have resisted Carriers many times - and that's what this is - a Carrier thread by another name. Will they do it this time ..... I have no idea, we wait and see. No point pumping more carbon dioxide into the air going over Carriers - yet again - we'll see what we shall see. We'll know one way or the other by The Spring I suspect.

They have little choice now frankly, multi-player is an "expected" option in *most* of todays "epic" type games. The particular issue with GalCiv is its a Strategy Game that takes a good while to complete. For sure, turn down the size of the Universe, and that shortens game time - it also shortens enjoyment. Its one of those topics that easy to wax eloquent about, but is a dog when deciding how to actually do it, and still keep faith with the Core Game. The Classic multi-playe

They do trials .... worth a go - I've used it for years, its excellent software. http://www.condusiv.com/evaluation-software/default.aspx?p=home
It was with IE10. Its seems to be receding, still get it, but reducing numbers. Only happens when on the GalCiv3 Site. Its the standard Windows "Choose Browser" screen, except Win8 is the minimum Browser choice shown.
This is a Strategy Game - not a tedious shoot-em-up. Stardock have made improvements to the Combat Box, we await to see what - but this will never, not a zillion years, ever be some quasi shoot-em-up. Its a Strategy game, and will stay that way. Lots of shoot-em-ups out there if someone has withdrawal symptoms - but this isn't one of them.
What I always wished for was the ability to have just a smart AI during the start of the game, but be able to get a cheating AI once my empire was set up
Why bother playing, an arcade shoot-em-up would meet that need, although those do get harder as the levels increase. The latter gives a subtle clue .... I'm also well into using cheats from time to time, all part of the fun, but you cant expect Stardock to waste copious resources on Cheats ...... Th
This one sums it up ...
The combat in Galactic Civilization 3 needs to be like you are watching Battlestar Galactica.
This is TBS - not a lightweight RTS shoot-em-up. Want to play zap-the-ray-gun ..... go find an arcade video game slot machine Its a S-t-r-a-t-e-g-y game ..... hello ? The RTS crowd need to give it up - GalCiv is a Strategy Game, and at its Core will always be so. There will be various mechanics that satiate the RTS brain
Good find - thank you for posting it. That article says in a nutshell why Stardock are so good at what they do. They Take Ownership Good or Bad, they look after their Developers, and predicate Release Dates on finished Games, not selfish Shareholder driven dribble...... ..... and their Gamers love 'em for it. It isn't rocket science, its just sad when so many Corporate Driven Games Houses let their Paymasters get away with murder on this.
So far I've found AVG lurking, and that filth makes me deeply suspicious. That garbage burrows itself so deep into config files it can be a Nightmare to dig out. Found it on IE10 and Chrome - not on Opera (yet). Dug out a big AVG directory on C Drive (that's now history), and inside the msconfig file. God I hate AVG, it crawls in like some virus from Hell. No doubt I'll have a fight for a few days before I finally eradicate the filth. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] However ...

Thanks Charon, I'll have a closer ferret. I am certain its not Malware, this is definitely coming from MS some how. Last but no means least ..... Microsoft have canned XP - and XP developers now get zero MS support. It therefore takes a particular kind of Lunatic to develop and release a mainstream game that purports to be supported by XP. Having canned XP, it becomes insane to support 32Bit. Brad maybe a controversial in some peoples eyes - but stupid he is not.
Ahhhh .... the old Steam argument... Do you really believe Brad would leave his Gamer Base out in the Cold just because Steam Collapsed? That's just insane .... On Day 2 of a Steam Collapse I guarantee Brad will be either Posting, or rapidly working on a Stardock facility to get us all back on line. Some people just make a life's work of moaning, its astonishing....
There is a bottom line to all this - do you trust Brad or not? Me? every time . Were there issues in the past, for sure, a couple, so whats new, its life in the Gaming World. The Massive difference is Brad will pull Heaven and Earth to fix any Major Failures until they perform as designed, and we the Gamers don't get screwed paying more cash for the fix.
