Brad has already stated they have come up with some kind of enhanced tactical battle for GalCiv III, but I cannot see it being an integral part of the interactive game affecting overall outcomes. It'll be some kind of optional enhanced tactical box with added smoke and mirrors - whether its out in open space, Planet atmosphere, ground based - or all the above as the saying goes. There is zero chance of a tactical level battle having a mainstream affect on the game. On the lar

280X is a great price - street price in UK is £235 for the Sapphire version. Usually slightly more expensive over here due to exchange rates, but that's still $370, not far off the US Amazon price medium of circa $340. Tempting .... but I'll wait and see what the dual GPU version comes out as in a few weeks/couple of months
Brad has launched Oxide, a new graphics initiative, they just went live. As far as GalCiv III is concerned, DX9 is dead - not happening, will not get past first base even by co-incidence. DX9 is wholly incompatible with the new Nitrous Graphics Engine that's been launched by Oxide, Brad's new 3d engine, Nitrous, is a generational step change in graphics. DX9 could handle three point lights in games, Nitrous handles tens of thousands using all available graphics GPU /
