Changed from 1 to 0. Still does nothing. Nothing I do the the .XML file causes any changes. Something is stopping the game from using the file with the changes. Any ideas for next steps?
Are you starting a new game? xml changes do not update in games started previously, as the xml used during game creation is stored with the save game in Stardock games. Any chance those changes are not o
I'm in the turn based camp. I like playing games at my pace not the computer's. [e digicons]:)[/e] My wish list item for Stardock is that they take what they learned from the Elemental games, and apply it to a alien planet strategy game. I still go back to Alpha Centauri, warts and all, and play it every couple years for a game or two.
Agreed! I

I won't even touch RTS. Haven't in years. I tried it more than a couple times, and like the early portion, but overall it's just not for me. Not gonna lie, Total War: Warhammer 1 & 2 are giving me straying thoughts though. Not because of the battles, although I do like watching them on Let's Plays, but more for the fantastic lore. I may even end up buying those way down the line when they are on deep sale and put the battle on auto-resolve. Th

Like the other shows on CBS and Fox on Sunday nights during the NFL season, they end up getting pushed back by 10 - 45 minutes almost every week. I used to pad my Tivo Season Passes to account for it. But then you have to also record any shows you don't want to cover the overlap. Made it all to messy, now I just don't watch Fox or CBS shows scheduled on Sunday nights. I say fuck em if they can't be bothered to either: a: properly schedule the time it takes for an NFL game thes
Outstanding news! I am eager to hear more. In fact I think I will fire up a new game this weekend and run thru it. I was playing a civ 6 game and I simply cannot dislodge Gandhi from a mountain surrounded city with knights and legionnaires. Those damn elephants are too strong!
Probably a ring of hills around the city in all non-mountainous spaces, with flat lands behind those so you can't range attack either?</
Request to aid modding: It's really nice that designs in the My Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Designs folder can be used in ship blueprints! But there's still one exception, the game doesn't recognize a \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Designs\Startup folder in the same was as \SteamGames\SteamApps\common\Galactic
That will be coming in 1.1. But isn't in this update, look for it in a 1.1 update next week.
Not really bitching here but, isn't it strange that 1.10 does not equal 1.1? Again not complaining that you guys are doing this, I realize that it is widely used that way. Just an observation that the way that numbering works, exists.
what the game is out. What game is this.
You're replying to a thread from the Ashes of the Singularity forum. Same thing got me a month or so back, lol.

That option is already long, long gone. Think they quit selling those keys about a year ago. Although, they did just give a bunch away for free in the last week or so during twitch streams. Where are you still seeing the ability to upgrade to the Elite Founders? Edit (added below): Sorry!! My bad, just noticed you were posting from a different game forum. I was browsing the GalCiv3 forums and spotted this thread, and
ok thanks.. why not just put a browse button in the game!! lol... thanks reading the thread now.
Think one of the devs mentioned they'd like to improve the way that all works, but just not a high priority at this time.

https://forums.galciv3.com/464189 Check out that thread, think it'll tell you where everything needs to be placed. It shows how to use any old pictures from the web, so I can't see why you couldn't swap in your own files at that point.

Think it's all dependent on the arrival of the Vulkan api. Brad said that once that arrives he'd like to get this ported to both Linux and Mac. Following that he'd like to work on DX12 implementation for Windows. Not sure if he has written that in any posts, but he mentioned it in one of the streams last week.

Wonder if this is the same issue as they mentioned in the stream in regards to the custom races. Appears with that they need to include versioning in the custom races so that the game can make a check to make sure it is compatible with the current game version. Apparently stuff has changed so much that custom races made a couple game version ago, just plain don't work due to changes made in the game architecture. Guessing that same thing would be relevant to ship designs, so maybe they ne
How do I clear out the beta ship designs?
Try here (Win7 location): C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Ships This is typical of most Stardock programs these days, all standard game files in the steamapps program folder. All mods and user created units, races, etc. somewhere in the users file area.

Believe that is why they took down the timer. They changed from exact time to afternoon, think we all just assumed it meant later and not earlier in afternoon :)

When playing the campaign with the music off, you don't hear any speech. Kind of a big deal, I never want the background game music playing in any game, and is the first thing I turn off in settings. (Yes, without listening to it. Sorry to all the artists who put hard work in on that.) I turned music back on, restarted, and sure enough all the speech was there. Turned music back off, restarted, gone again. :(
yes, just have an add random option when you click the add button. Then it would pick a race. Just so you don't know who is out there.
Perfect solution. This really is a must at some point, picking your own enemies let's you start plotting your strategy earlier than necessary.

Was trying to colonize my 3rd planet the other night and it wouldn't let me land on any planets. I believe I had population on the colony ship. It was in neutral territory, within my ship's range. The planet itself was habitable. When that wouldn't work, tried going to an empty planet within my territory and still- no luck. Think I still have that game saved, so if anyone has any idea on what to check for or try, I'm open to suggestions. Also, a Dev requ
