No, I believe standard founders get Beta access, but not Alpha.

Firaxis is not currently working with Oxide.
It is former employees/contractors of Firaxis though, correct? And also not to say that Firaxis couldn't or wouldn't use Nitrous, just nothing announced or even rumored.
Another possibility is to make the research tree slightly random or adaptive. This would enhance replayability. To give a GC-2 example, the Yor might not have the intellectual capability to conceive of "laser" technology unless they steal it from others, or actually see it in combat. Intelligence gleaned in combat might be enough to unlock some of this branch of research that would otherwise be inaccessible.
They tried this early

To answer the OP topic; unless I accidentally come across some name I really like, or some random thought strikes from out of nowhere, I'm probably not going to send in a name. It's a cool idea for the people who are into that, but it honestly played no decision in my getting the Elite or not.
Thanks for your response and yes I already sent my inquiry to stardock and I got the answer.
Well!?!? just kidding. But seriously, let us know what they said, it probably will apply to someone else in the future, and it'd be great to have the info available.
Definitely something wrong here, I have disabled adblock, still no videos, same ads. I loaded in IE11, with no add-ons whatsoever and not logged in, and no videos, same ads. I've also loaded this up in both Safari and chrome on my iPad and no video ads. I'd agree with the others, you have some type of malware running on your PC. First rule... don't trust the big names in virus scanners, in my opinion both McAfee and Norton ARE malware themselves.

That's a recipe for support headaches and complaints when someone needs to reinstall a game to fix something and they find out the uninstaller wiped out all their saves & screenshots. I mean, Office knows it's putting files there too, but should uninstalling Word really delet
Bumping, any Dev comment on this?
That sounds a lot like what Civ V did. And with all of these comments about what was done about DLC's where, it looks like Steam doesn't support it and it is up to the game developer.
Yeah, the Civ V model is kind of what I was thinking of when I started this thread, probably should have thrown that in the OP. I'd like to see it a bit more robust than that of course, but the Civ V implementation I would
That's a good start, but that does not address DLC, as there was none for GC2, just exp packs. In their current game FE:LH, there is no way to do such a thing. Just want to put the thought in their mind.
Just wondering if you are planning on some sort of on/off system for DLCs and expansion packs. Was playing FE:LH and got to thinking about the people who were complaining about not liking one DLC or another. Which led me down the path to thinking whether or not I could disable the DLCs in FE:LH. I see no system for doing that via Steam, if someone knows of this method please fill me in. So that led me to thinking that we need some in-game system for turning on/off DLCs
Most likely we'll be getting a Steam code upon alpha release. I think I read multiplayer will be in early, they are using steam for their multiplayer, hence it will need to be a steam code and not a stand-alone downloadable alpha.
Same here, a quick cancel of the original order and was able to start fresh.
Hi Guys I am big fan of Sins Of Solar Empire series and currently playing Rebellion whatever I can. I never play Galactic Civilisation series previously and brought the Founder's Elite thinking it would be similar to SINS but customise ships and larger scale maps. I hope that the planets size are four time larger than the ships and space faculties similar to SINS?
You do realize that Gal Civ series is com
The reason it can do that is because it inherently uses all the cores on both the CPU and the GPU. It's the result of an engine that's been designed and programmed by people who've been making this stuff for decades being able to begin, from scratch with multicore and 64-bit configs as the starting point. That's the main reason why Intel, AMD, and Nvidia are backing it so publicly. They've seen it in action.
Well
GCII was Pear I believe. But that is just a dim recollection.
Congrats on the announcement!! And slam that door shut on old hardware. 64 bit and DirectX11 don't seem to be asking for too much, I'd wager most gamers already have both.
lol, you were right Wintersong, there is the announcement!
nice I purchased the founders elite as I'm an avid galactic civs fan!
Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I went with the cheap one to begin with!
Could be, not sure if that qualifies as bigger than GalCiv3 announcement, but the timing sure is right.
And re-ordered as Founders Elite. Thanks to Stardock support for making that simple! [e digicons][/e]
64 bit only! Yes!
