I agree that balancing is very tough thing in Galactic Civilizations 3 and there are tons of settings at the moment which don't correlate to game settings. But that does not mean that we can not improve the concept itself and offer a way for star bases to gain more hit points.

Thanks for the hint on the information on the single building. I still think feedback how the planet output is finally changed by the planned buildings would be extremely helpful.
Maybe I missed how I could find this information. But I would love to see a direct feedback, what the improvement of a building would be to the overall production of the planet. This could for example be shown in brackets behind each category. I think we had such a feature in twilight of arnor. I know this gets harder to do with a building queue, but I think especially for new players this would greatly help to get better access to planet improvements.</
Hello, I think star bases could use a tweak. I think they need especially a way to also gain additional hit points during the game. I think a star base should at least be able to defeat a decent fleet on it's own and not just be sitting duck. This could for example be realized, if each added module provides +X hit points or with each hull technology there could be a new module that adds hit points to the star base. Just my thoughts.
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="26" id="3609236"] Quoting Achronous, reply 18 I think you've been too harsh on Naselus. He is only offering criticism to improve the game (or at least the game in his own mind, as you have posted before). You have every right to tell him to go play another game, but honestly I don't thin
Hello, would it be possible to turn off the trading with research you got via trading? I think at the moment you only can shutdown trading completely. I really would like that feature, as it increases the value of technology you research, as they can not spread as easily to all other races. Thanks a lot!
Hello, would it be possible to get a research queue (similar to the production queues), so that we can do some long term research planning. Thanks a lot!
Hello, would it be possible the to turn the number above the message/event board red, whenever a ship or ships are our sensor range from races we are at war with? Most of the times I don't open that tab, but if I am at war, I currently have to check it regularly as it is one of the faster ways to find ships in sensor range. Thanks a lot!
Larsenex, yes I saw the information on the top left. But exactly that information currently provides zero information. It does not tell you, when or how this benefits are used. And a training scenario is a pure excuse for bad usability in the first place. The last decent tutorial I saw was I think 10 years ago, afterwards they just become pure excuses, to say you have a tutorial and let the hardcore gamer figure out how play that game.
Same for research and production resources. On a similar note, there is also no feedback how building will impact the output of a planet. So it is currently impossible for new player to make good decisions. it is just trial and error, which would in a final product create a lot of frustration.
As an old GalCiv 2 player, a question: Can I built anything on wild grain to get the benefit or does it need to be special building. The context information does not show this information. To provide all information needed for a decision is good usability. 3rd usability issue in just 5 minutes looking into the beta. Stardock I believe in you guys, you can do better than this.
Where is the GalCiv 2 list of habitable, uncolonized planets? Without such a list an immense game will be very painful. Again for me basic usability missing in GalCiv 3 beta.
First beta out and still no edge scrolling. If not even the basic usability is yet available I am very reluctant to invest time in this game.
Has Anybody read the Honor Harrington Books? You could have fast travel between a small number of stars. This makes those stars more important as a strategic point in the game. Ships using the those gates could loose all their movement for that round. Additionally they could be limited in the amount of ships(ize) which is allowed to travel per turn through the gate. Just my 5 cent.
Originally it happened in 0.0.2.0, but it is still there in 0.2.0.0. It is not resolution related. I just sent an email to support incl. screenshot and DXdiag.
Hello, in version 0.2.0.0 the captions of tabs on my PC are displayed in the complete top left corner of the screen as a list and button captions at the bottom of the dialogue are missing.
