I would love to see something like this. Possibly even a few more choices - volcanic worlds, gas giant stations, desert worlds, barren worlds, jungles, metal worlds...

I think Derracs said it best. Its the same thing civ:BE suffers from : too many choices, each with no real impact. Infinite number of choice combinations, but they all result in approximately the same thing.
I have to agree with most of the original points : Research is boring, colony management lacks meaningful choice (eg multiple option that are significantly different and can each be worthwhile). Adjacency is a good idea, but having each thing give an adjacency bonus to its own type just means I spam one building type. Terraforming is fine as it is, and we haven't seen combat yet so hard to comment there. Also, simultaneous MP is a must.
Yes, the large number of minor techs is annoying. I would prefer fewer, more valuable techs rather than another +5% bonus every other turn.
Yes, my largest gripe in micromanagement is colony industry sliders and star bases. Anything that could automate those would be wonderful. As for immersion - perhaps a better way to say it would be that I feel eXploration and eXploitation are lacking. eXploration - finding one class 8 planet is much the same as another class 8 planet. There may (but probably not) be a single anomaly on one of them. Of course, location is important an
Now some comments on your major points. It is just my thoughts, so take them with a grain of salt.
Thanks for your views. I understand exact UI values may change, but a general overview of what effects something has (eg is trade dependent on route length? Planet size? Diplomatic standing? Length of time route has existed?) would be nice. My biggest concer
Beta 2 cleared up the performance issues, so I can actually play now. Played 220 turns or so. Major Points UI is awful - After playing some other 4X games recently (CiV, AOW, Endless Space, Pandora, Endless Legend, and others), coming to this was a rude shock. Finding information is difficult, the UI is ugly, and whatever information I can find is often uninformative. A tech benefit may read that it reduces building costs by 10%, but I have to r
I have this problem as well. Went around with support for a while. They don't seem to know what the problem is, and are assuming that it will get fixed when they optimize everything. In the meantime, try using your integrated chipset to play the game. For me, this tripled my framerate, into the playable range.
Set it to run with the Nvidia card again Debug.err : http://pastebin.com/jbCVSuSS EDIT : Ran it with integrated graphics, debug.err : http://pastebin.com/WVufhdtc
There is a large difference between a few seconds extra time between turns and unplayable lag. Anyways, I just tried setting my GC3 to force using the integrated graphics - I actually got BETTER performance : 30 fps in both planet screen and main screen.
Hit d to display debug information (including framerate) And yes, I did make sure I was using the nvidia card, not the integrated chipset.
What the heck are the system requirement for this? I have a fairly new, fairly decent rig, but I am getting atrocious performance... 6 fps in planet viewer, and 10 fps on the standard screen on new game. I have a i7-4810, 16gb RAM, and GTX 870m Are these not enough, or should I be getting better performance than this?
Free GalCiv II ultimate on Steam for founder's?- I didn't hear that.
The offer was from an email a few months ago - I was just wondering if it was a special promotion or a general bonus for upgrading. Email didn't specify.
Is there any info on just how many expansions / dlcs there will be, and at what rate or pricing? Also does the free GCII ultimate on upgrade still apply? Just wondering if anyone can make a good case for upgrading from regular to elite.
Oh hey, its Sigil from the AOW3 forums! http://www.ageofwonders.com/forums/users/sigil/topics/ He trolls there about how much he hates the animations compared to HOMM6 over and over.
