There is an "honorable mentions" page forthcoming.
Five of the eight finalists submitted but a single screenshot of their ship. Rand, edladner, all -- You guys do awesome work. We love it, and we deeply appreciate your contributions to the community. I'm sorry you weren't selected, but according to Paul we had over 80 ships submitted that he thought were good enough to be included in the game. That's a lot of competition for eight slots.
I should note that you can click the pic on the contest page itself to see a full-size shot of the ship.
Thanks to everyone who entered our ship designer contest. We were blown away be the creativity and skill that you all poured into your creations. Paul (lead designer) begged me to let him pick 16 instead of 8 finalists because he was so impressed by the submissions, but I wanted to make sure to minimize any fun that anyone was having (and/or couldn't re-jigger all the web design or alter the contest rules legally at the last minute) and so 8 is the final number. <a href="http://ga

Hey all -- sorry I haven't gotten all the questions answered. Some of the answers I just don't have. Quick update today: We've picked the eight finalists, so check your email. Voting starts tomorrow!
Edladner: No, but you can just resubmit -- give the youtube link and note that you'd like to update your previous submission, and we'll take care of it internally. loomenko: You don't need to own GC3 to be eligible, but submissions do need to be able to be imported into GC3. Designing them in the GC3 editor is the easiest way to make sure they're eligible. Rand Johnson: Seriously guys, ask Rand your ship designer questions. He/she has made some really cool stuf
Updated the FAQ with answers to your questions. Or here, if you don't want to scroll alllllll the waaaaaay up to the top of the page: What size ships are you looking for? Any size. Whatever supports your artistic vision. Do you want bare hulls, or finished designs with lasers, shields, etc? Hulls, generally. That's most likely how any winners will be included in the game, anyway. Will ship desig
This is a great discussion. FWIW, we talked about this a bit in last week's stream . The short version is that extreme worlds are going to change this dynamic quite a bit -- you won't be able to colonize everything in sight because you won't have the tech for it. So we're not spending a bunch of time balancing expansion right now when it's going to change so drastically once

Just tried rotating my view in the ship designer by holding middle mouse and dragging the mouse around and it worked fine. Dunno what to tell you, implodinggoat :(

Population Pressure means your pop is nearing your food cap, aka your planet is getting more crowded, which lowers approval. The idea as I understand it is to create some tension between building up your core worlds and settling new ones (building colony ships to ship some of those people offworld).
We’ve officially launched the beta! Bells are ringing, birds are singing, and it’s a beautiful day to dig up the archives of a forgotten race’s reality TV shows and use them to placate a restive populace that for some reason doesn’t see the value in mandatory six-month stints working the factories of the nearest forgeworld. To all of our Fou
