I've only done 2 WB skins so far and I love the comments, and any chance to improve is welcomed, speaking for myself of course. A bad rating doesn't tell me anything that is going to make me improve. It is also impossible to find every problem with a skin berfore it is submitted, especially right now with all the different versions of windowblinds out there and the bugs that go along with each different version. I plead with poeple to critique my work and let me know of any problems. We have kno
It's in beta and you can get it if you have object desktop. I think it's due for release tuesday
I think you'll have a hard time finding a true black theme, most are grey/black becasue some of the text always shows up as black, then you get spots where there is text and you can't see it. Try using the Luna theme included with WB and the custom coloring feature. Haven't tried this myself, but I think you'll have more luck with that than finding someone to make you a black luna theme. The time and effort involved in doing WB skins is increasing, especially with 4 coming out. Most authors stic
I'd try it but it is too small for me. I use 1920x1440 on a 21" screen. I have switched from DX to objectbar and won't be going back or using the two together until iconX is compatable with virtual desktops and the objectbar right-click menus. Looks tempting though... Good work
I've seen it on 4 skins i've tried today, 2 of my own and 2 of others making, it seems completely random
yeah that's what I meant. Thanks for all your help so far this morning. If it wasn't for you there would be yet another fist-sized hole in the wall next to my computer
In the new version of Skin Studio, instead of "save as web package" there is "zip for distribution" This creates a WBload document instead of a zip folder. 1. what is the difference between the two? 2. should I submit the WB load document or just zip the folder and submit that. thanks for answers in advance
Right you are and thanks a bunch! I would have never thought to check that. You wouldn't by any chance be able to explain why the explorer titlebars have a small transparent gap between them and the toolbar and\or menu on occation would you?
I think some of you with the most serious WB errors wight have two versions. Check for a c:\...\object desktop and a c:\...\stardock\object desktop folder and see if you have duplicate programs. I did last week, 2 WB and 2 skin studios among others. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled using only stardock central and no more problems, but man is that annoying, they should know better! >
It's not the tabs, or anything else that I can see. I just went through the entire skin and changed every text color to black (minus the disabled text). The only other skin that's doing it is the default Luna skin, and all the text I have seen everywhere else is as it sould be and None of it is white except for the one place in iconpackager... Maybe it is a problem with the new default skin, I know they changed the luna skin recently with the new skin studio. Could it be flawed? Any guess on my
Hmmm... I would have thought you were right Mike, but I just changed the fonts and colors to no avail... It's gotta be somewhere though cause I just checked with another skin and it's got the black text like I need. The tabs, toolbars, menu buttons, taskbars, and everything else are black text as they should be... Now there could it be?
I need help now too... In Icon packager, under icons and cursors, the Tabs on the top, the ones with the spin button at the right side, the text is white and it needs to be black, anyone know how to change this?
I can't say for sure, but I would check the groupbox out. I am putting the finishing touches on my latest and just checked out those areas and they are skinned for me.
Thanks, Hippy.
Thanks 4 the info Jam, put me on the waiting list I guess
hey green, where is the wall in your current desktop pic? i don't see it anywhere and it rocks, also, do you know why everyone hates bryce so much?
yeah, WOW I never saw your stuff until just now when I clicked on your name Green, great stuff, and a good idea for sure
you need skin studio for windowblinds and a graphics editor like photoshop, there are others but that's what I use. I haven't started Icons yet so I can't say too much about that, but you need a proggy called microangelo, I believe, and I think there are others. I started by messing around with stuff I downloaded from here way before I was able to do my own, but that's how I started learning, that and hours of looking through tutorials and the photoshop bibles. Lot's of trial and error. I just g
Glad I could help
Open it in skin studio and look for the clock section same thing for the buttons, I think you mean toolbar buttons, there is a colors section under it
I'd like to help, but I am stumped right now too. The sounds I have added don't work, and as far as I can tell they should be. they're in the skin folder and I made sure the "use skin sounds if any" option in WB config is enabled. Might be a skinstudio bug if you are using the latest version... it's full of them
Does anyone know if .wav files must be used in WB skins or can I use MP3's or something smaller?
Thanks for posting the link Adam! That is a really cool site.
