Still have the DLC notification with the released patch.

It's on my list of things to do...which is the same as saying "hopefully".
Paul, thanks for adding the tag, but I think how it is currently used needs to be looked at. For the Bane it makes sense but some of the other Precursor modules I don't think they are powerful enough as they are to warrant the restriction. Maybe think about boosting their powers and/or adding a fleet effect. Or maybe not restricting certain modules.
Sure. This is the part I was trying to get to appear. I could get it in the list, but now I have something I can place on a hardpoint.
Yep. I just need that extra step of adding the custom part info to the Cosmetic Component XML. Once that was done the game could actually find the files.
Fair enough. I accept that I've misinterpreted the tone of your reply.
My first pass at a modified base Terran Frigate into a "command" variant.
Not sure why you're getting all snappy. Anyway, thanks for the help. The CosmeticComponent xml was what I was missing.
What I'm trying to do is replace the model for ship equipment (lasers, hyperdrive, etc) not just add a cosmetic part.
The latest update has also caused the notification to appear for me as well, which it wasn't doing in the first two updates.
I was looking at replacing some of the ship equipment with custom designs. There are a number that use the same model and I'd like to have them easier to identify on sight plus making them a bit more interesting in appearance. However, I can't get the game to recognise new designs in . In the designer the thumbnail is blank and no part is displayed when I select it. So I'm wondering if others have got it to work and if I'm just missing
Okay, so there is a distinction between the GC2 and GC3 designs. Interesting to know. That does bring me to an obvious question: why are the ships trapped at Earth GC3 designs in the cutscenes? Does that fall under the GC2 models don't exist so its not meant to be taken literally, but rather its just about representing the military build up at Earth? Or alternatively is there a lore reason behind it? Could it be that Earth wasn't as isolated as we thoug
I was having a discussion with someone about GC3 campaigns and we got onto the possibility of GC2 campaigns being remade for GC3 (which I think is remote and if we get better map/scenario tools something best left for the modding community to try to do). We got onto the topic of the GC2 ship designs and I suggested that they wouldn't return as they might not exist, or at the very least the Terran designs don't exist. I based this around the ships used by the first fleet an
I asked about the one per player thing a week ago and saw it was a possibility to come in 1.7, so I am very pleased to see that it made it into this 3rd update. It was even added in the manner I was planning to use it! I was really just looking at doing it to the Bane and while that makes sense I don't think the same can be said for the other components. They could do with a change, maybe make them a fleet buff or add a fleet buff to them as well. Currently they ar
Hoping it makes it in. If it does I think there could be interesting things done to the tech trees for all races or even allow a bit more uniqueness to individual race trees. Maybe even add unique components as salvage from anomalies. Stuff for the team to look at doing in the future I hope.
The only DLC you'll need to do something to actually get as a Elite Founder is the registration DLC. If you don't have it that might be why you have that notification. Or it was broken in the update, which has happened in the past.
I've seen that some components are 1 per ship, but just wondering if it is possible to limit a component so that you could only field one ship at a time with a certain component?
Over on the Steam forums Brad suggested ship XP would be part of 1.8.
Wishing for a movie is a bit much when we don't even have voice acting in game or faction specific cutscenes.

Aka, only tiny hulls could be assigned the interceptor role, escorts could be small or medium, and huge hulls could only be capital ships.
This is how the system already works. Tinys are interceptors or Guardians. Smalls are assault or escorts. Mediums are assault/capital or escorts. Large are capital or escorts. Huge are capitals.&nb
Just watched the stream and from on the "units" Paul seemed to be placing them in the "coming with Crusade" pile rather than in a DLC. He didn't say anything about any DLC being called Legends though. Paul did say the next DLC wasn't set in stone yet and that it was currently looking to be ship parts, including parts people have requested (can only think of logo parts on that one). He also said it would be tied to sharing factions. Not completely sure what that exa
Don't want to pay for DLC? Be a Galciv3 founder, although the ship has sailed on that option awhile ago.
Sorry to burst that bubble but Founders had to pay for the DLC. The only option not to pay for DLC is to...well, not pay for it.
They changed it then. I wonder when? Looking back at my Steam screenshots from around 1.4 (which is the most up-to-date until 1.6) each hull size was set at 35 tactical speed, unless the tooltip was wrong.
I'm surprised you are so positive on their communication Seilore. Not too long ago you were quite, and I think rightly, critical of how poor the communication from Stardock had become.
