I've been pondering the modern, twenty-first century version of politics for months now. (That's, of course, what happens when primaries and general elections are interminably long and arduous.) I've thought a lot about the ads, the debate tactics, the way that the system is set up, and various and sundry other concepts. Of course, it doesn't help that I've been on a hefty reading diet of politically charged books, papers, and blogs, but what can I s
McCain answered questions
I disagree. Neither of them answered a single question. It was all deflection and piles of stinky bullshit from both losers.
On AD's much less ridiculous and biased version . . .
Ralph Nader (Independant) 78.57% match
Not much of a surprise there. Gotta love how they can't even spell 'independent' right, though. Strong work, guys, strong work.
I've been a devoted fan of The Office for the fast two years. It's a show that, while I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to every Thursday, I wish I would have started watching four years ago and been there from the beginning. There are a couple of other shows that, luckily enough, I was able to catch from the get-go - Pushing Daisies , Reaper , and <span style="font-sty
As far back as 1992, Ralph Nader has proposed the addition of a NOTA option at the bottom of all ballots for each race - in other words, you vote for none of the schlubs. He wants this to be a binding vote. And the best part? If NOTA wins with the most votes, scrap the whole damn thing and start all over again with NEW candidates. Maybe after seven or eight NOTA victories, people will start to get the drift.
'Are you dating Condoleeza Rice?' 'I'm not at liberty to say.'
Here's another cross-poster from my other website. Only because I'm bored this morning. Two weeks ago (it was a Monday night), I finally got the book I had ordered from Amazon.com three weeks previous - Bone by Jeff Smith. I was ecstatic. I had wanted to read the large, 1400-plus page epic for months, but hadn't been able to purchase it as I was living in Spain, and upon returning I couldn't justify purchasing it until all my sc
Careful man, you're becoming dangerously European in mind and speech there.
That's what happens when you live there for a while. Curse you, damn Europeans!
wants to show it, people complain?
It's one thing to 'act like a normal joe', it's another thing all together to be condescending about it - which is exactly the feel I got from her 'folksy' gosh-darns and doggone-its. Just remember - people liked Bush in 2000 becuase he 'seemed like the kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with'. And just look how great THAT'S turned out.
Neither of them deserve to win because they both voted for (or renewed, with greater, more sweeping power) the PATRIOT Act and both of them voted for FISA. That's reason enough to not vote for ANY candidate.
If only pyschologists used their powers for good, and not for petty deceptions.
Except that good doesn't destroy people's lives under an avalanche of lies or get your beaucoup bucks from the dirtbag lobbyists . . .
El Chikichiki kills anything . Thanks for bringing back memories from Spain. ;)
Ah, yes, gotta love purposely inflammatory questions to cause actual thought to be buried under piles of rhetorical bullcaca.
1) I won't buy Spore because of copy protection. 2) Will Wright makes Spore. 3) Will Wright donates to Geezer McOldPants. 4) I guess I'll let his stupid program rape my computer after all! Your logic is impreccably stupid, Erath.
I'm personally wishing I could justify a vote for Nader but will probably vote for Obama.
Don't pussy up. Vote with your conscience. Vote Nader in '08.
Did anyone catch the "THEY HATE OUR FREEDOMS!" bit she pulled?
My favorite line from Palin: 'We'll work with the Talibani' My favorite line from Biden: 'The Serbians and the Bosniaks' Boners, both. However, Palin's boner was a bigger bulge that Biden's.
And moreover - the fact that Biden voted AGAINST the aberration that is FISA (the thing that forever killed my support for Obama) makes him that much cooler. But, I maintain, vote Nader in '08! You all know I am.
Biden stomped her ass into the ground.
Amen. Biden gave her a well-earned butt-whuppin'. The show was good; it was more fun that last week's, and I came away all the more assured that Sarah Palin would be BAD for this country.
Calling people on their bullshit is poetry in motion.
And Joe did it so well. This was the Biden I've been expecting to see (and that has been conspicuously absent) since the announcement that he'd run fo
Congrats, sucker. Enjoy your youth and freedom for the next day. ;)
I think it's a grand idea.
I couldn't disagree more. Sorry, sis, but I can't stand with you on this one. Even if each person got a check for 230.000, it would be impossible to enforce people using it the way you say they should. Moreover, it wouldn't go into the sectors of the economy where it's needed the most - which is why it can't be given to the taxpayers. I hate the concept of the bailout as much as the next guy, but it's naive to think it
To those who read this: this article was originally posted on my Blogspot blog, where I do the majority of my blogging these days. But because Whip is so insistent that I stick around, I thought I'd give you all a taste of the urine and bile you're all missing out on over there. So here goes. Whatevs. It seems that every election I'm confronted by the same situation. (And this is on almost every level - local, state, and national.) I'm given a slew
I don't want to get into that, because then we'll have fighting on the blog.
Fight, fight, fight! Please. You know our concept of heaven is by far the coolest concept of all. Makes almost every other religion look dumbtarded by comparison. Sorry, sis.
I've left my stuff here (I'm far too lazy to migrate 300+ articles to a new site), but I'm exclusively using my Blogger site now. While there's not quite the level of interaction from JU, it's becoming better and better. And hey - it actually feels like YOURS, because there's no ads, no cross-posting, and you can play with the layout, formatting, features to high heaven and truly customize it. The waters m
This has been coming for a long time. You could argue this began with the switchover to JU2, but that would put far too much importance on the format and not enough on the message. You could argue it began with the release of Impulse (a program I actually use on a relatively regular basis, but dammit I'm sick of seeing these retards post ARTICLE AFTER ARTICLE for help with problems that have been answered in EIGHT THOUSAND OTHER THREADS FORTY-FIVE MI
