I think it is f12, I'm not sure, I use a program for screenshots. I keep copies of every ship I have designed GC2, GC3 or 3dmax.

Those will be some of the last things added according to the devs

I would do it just for the fun of it, no prize needed.

I have had this happen, I found I could save the game then load it right back and continue the game.

In battles it seems to me that well armed tiny and small ships must be evading the larger ships and using their combined weapons to take out larger ships. My fleets now consist of: 1 huge 1 large 1 medium 3 small 5 tiny It seems to be a very effective battle group.
