I have zoomed out to show as much of the bottom portion of the map as I can and as you can see the entire bottom 1/5th of the map is devoid of all planets and start clusters. The map time was Immense with Tight Clusters and all other settings set to Occasional.

If it was a direct memory issue then I doubt I would be experiencing the hangs at around turn 340+ as I have 32 GB's of RAM. Immense galaxy as well though I don't know the exact statistics of ships and planets. I do know everything is explored and all planets except for two are colonized. Gal Civ 3 at the menu at startup is using ~1.6 GB's. After loading a turn 380 Hang save, the memory usage moved up to 4.35 GB's of memory for GalCiv
I like the idea of the local allied space treaty, it definitely could add another level of play to the game. Combine that with say an ally who is going to go to war with you, it could seriously hamper your own logistics if you weren't prepared for the back-stab.
Over 9000. Unlock ALL THE GALAXY SIZES! = ) But seriously, I also disagree with this idea. Movement modifiers would then simply eliminate the necessity of researching engine tech first. Perhaps that's not how I want to do it? I start off immediately researching a few engine techs, then planet infrastructure and get some population boosting planets. Next I work into military and planet invasion. It's easy enough to just
Rhonin_the_wizard, shared borders will cause a penalty early game if you haven't unlocked the trait in the Benevolence tree. That said, it's more of the "0" simply looking out of place among the list of color coded symbols.
Go for the opt-in patch all. You can at least surpass any hangs with a save and reload. I have experience 2 CTD's in about 12 hangs all around turns 340 to 380. Plus, any additional information generated from the DMP's and ZIPs you can submit to Stardock will get this issue cleared up faster.
Awesome, ticket worked finally--looks like there is a file size limit like Ray mentioned. Save game files are approximately 6 MB each. The .zips are...variable. Anyway, for anyone else who wishes to submit their information.
I've played a great many Early Access games since the start of last year and to be honest I love it. Yes, there are bugs and the game isn't complete, but there is something fun about watching a game develop. Throughout the process it's also allowed me to see what types of bugs are big issues.
Thanks rakker, I'll submit my debugs now. Though I don't think I was pushing higher than 10 MB. Either way, I'm sure they'll get it fixed.
... Kind of wish the game had an override script, if it's not to do with idle queues. Like, a button or command to tell the game "Acknowledged, pass idle/alert/whatever to next turn's status and then proceed with AI." I mean, it's nice that I can now (somewhat) hop-scotch past the problem but it's a shaky system I have of using autosave and scrutinizing every tab on the right-hand side of the UI.
Negative on all of those. I also posted an bug report about a week ago. I'll restart and give it a shot however.
lol Play by play here on this game. Makes it kind of funny. Turn 372 Hang. Saved and reloaded fine without CTD or restart. Turn 373 Hang. Saved and reloaded to an immediate CTD. No luck on being able to post a new ticket still. Turn 375 Hang. Reload successful.
Wrong topic. Ugh--reposted on Opt-In Hang
Correct, after starting the game this morning I noticed the Ideology trait which did that as well and assumed that was what was causing it. There should be some kind of neutral symbol or simply the removal of the line entirely. The "0" seems out of place with the rest of the list as color coded plus and minus symbols.
Hmm, unable to post a new ticket; still recieving the error posted prior. Had another hang, same game as mentioned prior, at turn 370--an immediate and reload corrected the issue with no CTD or restart of the GalCiv3 client.
Hmmm, perhaps I should do this. Haven't messed with the xml files but it might make the current game more balanced when I can.
Maybe it's suppose to be "0" to show neutral status. It just looks odd.
Well, I've attempted to upload a support ticket six times. The database seems to be having issues with me.
Oh yea, that makes sense. Completely forgot about Ideology points for the AI.
Affirmative Seilore. This is a brand new game started after the patch. Do you want me to create a new ticket or upload to my 0.70.5 ticket?
Reached turn 321, 341, 343, and now 351 on an Immense map with all races AI Godlike. Same specs as my 0.70.5 bug reports. I will state that saving the game and loading it will *sometimes* cause a CTD immediately on the load, usually after it's finished running the turn que. However, sometimes the load completes fine and I was able to continue, as per my sentence up top. Additional notes--technically it has only CTD'd once on the reload
I'm playing as the Altarians, however, I can't declare war on the Terrans, it's around turn 400 now. No UN enforced peace agreements that I can see, so I'm kind of at a loss. I have all the other races playing with me as well, even in the diplomacy screen I can declare war on everyone else except the terrans. It's so strange. = /
Aye, I'm currently on turn 322 of an Immense galaxy, all races AI Godlike. Loving it, = )
"Social Industrialization" and "Military Industrialization" are completely missing from the tech tree view. Current specs are 1920x1080, all settings maxxed including AA and dual monitor setup running windowed borderless. The tooltip for each research option still pops up when hovered over.
I'll admit I'm not really sure what I'm doing when it comes to the advanced planet mechanics. I understand the overall basics for most of them, but I haven't played around with them enough and since the mechanics and values do keep changing, I haven't tried all that hard to dig into grasping them.
