No, I really don't think this has anything to do with the climbing gas prices. So, despite the fact that we didn't really use Iraqi oil, or that the situation during the wars Iraqi oil production wise has been more or less stable (no, I didn't say it was any good, I said stable.) we're blaming the oil prices on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan again? And you're right. Katrina had no influence on oil prices, nor did the downtime on a large portio
Spc Nobody Special
Clearly I haven't written anything in the last few days, and well, let's face it, nobody ever knows wtf to say about my limerick movie reviews, even on the rare occasion that they aren't complete doggerel. I've been, let's say, down with the sickness ( you mothers get up, come on get down with the sickness .....in his best richard cheese inside his head imitatio
More evil than Christopher Lee, From these vampires your pants fill with pee, It's Darker and Starker than books by Clive Barker, no Bruce Campbell, but produced by Rai-mi. The lines were all stark and quite keen, And the characters suitably mean, But they still fell down dead, When you chopped off their heads, Like a Baldwin or pe
I think before I left, I made my opinions pretty clear about the Iraq war. For example. Link I'm not crazy about us being in two wars at once. I'm not entirely nuts about the reasons we went to war in Iraq. (to be fair, Saddam believed he had the crap, had used it in the past, and wanted
Come on, military health care is worth every penny you spend on it......... Sorry about Ms. No Personality or Bowel Movements, really, MS? {looks at muscle twitching on and off in his thigh/arm/eye nervously}
Thank you for your lovely gifts. Somebody apparently also gave me the flu......damn it
That's right, flood his blog site wishing him a happy birthday. I forget the year, but Nov. 20 is his special day. Mail him a fried chicken. (or four fried chickens and a coke) Very very special. Yeah. (and yeah, its my birthday too.)
Wistful sigh.........
No really. So I've been in country for seven or eight weeks, and I wake up with a mesquito bite. Under and slightly to the left of my erm, junk. Okay, that's weird. Next morning, I've got a goose egg, so I go in, see an med type assistant who says I've got an infected lymph node and puts me on Keflex. Twelve hours later I wake up and my legs turning purple down to hal
We once got drunk with Hank Williams Jr at a truck stop in Missoula. So don't ask me Hank, why do you drink.......why do you hang out with red headed sado-masochist bloggers at truck stops in Missoula, why do you live out the songs that you wrote......... Well Dick, It's got a great beat
So I'm watching Woody Allen's "Everything you wanted to know about sex* (but were afraid to ask)" and my wife starts laughing....more than normal. Apparently Doctor Doug Ross, the character played by Gene Wilder, who falls in love/lust with a sheep from the hills of Armenia, is the exact same name used by George Clooney's character on ER. Being straight, I of course w
One of the few real surprises when I got to Iraq relates. Over there they still use bills (although it's a right pain in the fundament to get them, frickin' stand in line for an hour at finance or take out twenty at a time at the px), but instead of change, they use these crappy pogs, "px gift certificates". Tell me, what kind of gift can you get for a nickle...erm, a 5 cent pog? De facto, non-congressional type military scrip. Which of course, some pe
So he says to me, I think you blew a seal. I says just fix the damned thing, and leave my personal life out of it....... Nice title. Hi!
Oh.............my God.
Funny, I'm just home on leave, and last I checked (last week), despite, according to the media, repeated funding crunches, we're still doing missions, I've got plenty of bullets, and I keep right on eating and getting paid. I'm not overly worried. They'll figure it out. The Democrats will bitch and moan, and they'll compromise a tiny bit from the admin's position, and whatever bill is needed will get passed. SSDD.
Having seen nursing homes, I'm pretty much just hoping to die by about fifty or so.
Okay, I'm not that clever, I stole it from a cartoon I saw at the bookstore. I'm home on leave for a couple of weeks, so I'm kinda sorta blogging again. So I can get it all out of the way at once, Iraq. You wanna know what it's like? Go outside (you'll need a friend.) Find an overfilled portajohn and stand next to it. Get your friend to put a blowdrier in
Go for it. It sounds like an awesome job. I'm still getting in some, got laid up in the hospital for a bit (infected lymph nodes, nothing heroic) and I just finished a celtic braid scarf and started on a hat. Sorry to hear about the hubby's ACL, that blows.
Congrats, Three miles this morning, but I totally took a page from Talisein's book and cheated with a nice big fat Kuwaiti ice cream at lunch. This doesn't count as blogging. I am not addicted. That is all.
Drop me a line since you aren't writing here B. Erm, crap. Totally forgot your email addie. Really don't know what living conditions over there either. No internet (hell, no power) a strong possibility.
Write no more, I'm off to war!!! I ain't gone yet, but it's close enough I'm stopping now to keep the timeline fuzzy for opsec type reasons. Ain't saying where or when I'm goin' or what I'm doin', but it oughta be fun! Plus, I'll finally be ought of the #$%%@!!! rain! Woot. Maybe I'll get the chance to check in once in awhile, but in the meantime, do
All hail to thee, O oracle. Halellujah, amen.
What, no M.I. "How can we make this suck?"
What is the honor of defeating a weaker opponent?" If you beat them at all, doesn't that automatically make them the weaker opponent, no matter how big they are?
It is hard to see how a war could be averted. It's all too easy with the swing of politics the last couple of years. I've got an idea that should satisfy everybody though. Don't want a lengthy war, but don't want to let North Korea and Iran sit back and flip us the bird? No problem. Forget any war.
