Good evening sports fans, and welcome to all the news that is news across the nation, coming to you live from my blog. When I feel like it. Throng and adulate in the joy that is reading my word. Both of you. Tonight, we're coming to you live from my home brewery. It's a traditional establishment, harkening back to the yesteryear of two, possibly three hours ago, 2008. Extreme microbrew fever. Today's menu? Blackberry wine. I've had fruit wines before, and they're generally delicious.<
Spc Nobody Special
Not for another month yet. Dammit. Here it's only in the 80s, but a billion percent humidity. Nice pics, the kids are getting big. Is that Hood or Ft. Sam?
Kenya took their first gold in the Olympic marathon ever!!!! Samuel Wanjiru ran a 2:06:32 in 85 degree heat! I'm excited and using way too many exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was beautiful, just one of those moments you think they'll never pull it off, they're going to strive mightily and doom themselves to acrimonious failure. That's right, acrimonious. BUT THOSE MORONS PULLED IT OFF!!!!!!!!!! Apparently nobody told them that there was no frickin' way to bea
1. They refer to Noah as that asshole commuter with the really big gopherwood SUV. 2. You can't tell the street people from the business people. 3. A storm destroys a building with five businesses, and every one of them is a coffeehouse. 4. You get off early at three...and get stuck in heavy rush hour traffic. 5. If you put a big rock on top of it, it's art. Trust me on this one. Large cubes of blue glass also work. 6. You can be poor making f
Since my blog has been dying the death of a thousand days of not writing shit, I thought I'd touch base and let ya'll know what the latest project is. Oh yeah, and it's from Macbeth dammit. Jeez, nobody reads the frickin' classics anymore. Sigh...... So, it's not metal. Yet. (although I finally got a stick welder!!!!!) The latest deal is an illusion scarf. What's an illusion scarf? The idea is you've got what appears to be a normal scarf until you lift it at a slight angle, and W
Adam and Eve were set up. Don't push the button. The big button. The shiny red button. The glorious button. Oops, you pushed the button, now you've gone and done it. No, really? For there to be free will, somebody MUST screw up for screwing up to be an option. Otherwise you've just got a mechanist view of the universe, what with the omniscence and omnipotence.
Peace out, and good luck
Nice blue. STRONG ENOUGH TO KNIT, MAN ENOUGH TO PURL. What kind of fiber?
What is that, the north side of Balad near the PX? I got shot at occasionally. Shelled plenty. I wouldn't say I've seen combat and especially nothing resembling a real firefight. A few of the rocket and mortar monkeys are shooting better now, but not in Balad. The closest I came to being hit was a guy bouncing a bunch of mortars off T-walls 50 yards away and the occasional rocket passing overhead. The real nasties are still EFPs and LBIEDs. Big surprise.
I stopped because DA and the units were fucking hard with the soldiers that were blogging when I went over. So I saved it 'til I got back, only now I'm out of the habit, and most of the people I'm used to are gone gone gone.
Shoot on down to Austin for the night, it's only another 20 minutes or so. Probably too late now anyways. Also, next time you're in west Texas around San Angelo, there's a rinky dink steak house out in the middle of nowhere called the Loake (maybe lewake, that's the way it's pronounced) Steak House on the way up to Ballinger. They claim to have the biggest and best steaks in Texas. Hard to find the turnoff, but after that, it's the only thing out there, and I swear for 15 bucks
No picture. I took a few, but do you really think I'm so technologically advanced as to fuck with a digital camera, load it onto a computer, dump it on photobucket or some such, then link it when I could be rediscovering poorly, technological processes that were in an advanced state thousands of years before I was born? You know I'm a luddite savant... P.S. Talisein still lives???!!! Wow!
Just feeling good about playing with my metal casting furnace. After two false starts, (one cracked casting, and one crucible failure) I finally managed to cast a replacement key for a set of large cabinets. It's all roughed out on the grinding wheel, just have to finish it in the morning. Now I'm thinking about digging out my needles and working on a hat for one of the kids living with us. Maybe Fair Isle knit. Sweet. Now my usual warning, melting or working with metal is ext
I think the KBR Sri Lankan laundromat guys and Pakistanis (Tell them I said Aye jay and donyabad (hello and thanks)!) in the chow hall totally exemplified the Army values and the warrior ethos. I would not want to go to war again without them. Our sergeant major was a true example of the battle captain, and was a vital part of the team. I dare say he might have served even better in a Army civilian position. Hooah!
The coffeepot thing with ice and lemon works even better with salt. Picked that up waiting tables. Not one hundred percent natural, but just enough bleach to make a paste added to baking soda is good for the really impossible grease stains on stovetops, as long as you wash it all off afterwards with warm water. If any is left, it will stain the enamel when heated. Oh yeah, and borax, or boric acid works great as a flux when melting metal. For when you want that whole non-toxic t
Pregnant = fertile = hot. The kids look wonderful, as always. Skinny skinny though.
I don't think and never think this is funny:(
You laugh or you cry. Go to Iraq sometime. It's frickin' hilarious if your sense of humor is black enough. Personally, I hope the bastard dies of lead poisoning in the next five minutes. Now that would be funny.
And that's all I'm allowed to say about that. Dammit. S'true though.
Having the added wisdom of having been to war and what not.........POINT WHORE!!!!! P.S. Still got the last word!
3:54 in the morning here. Anyone else up?
Ever seen Boondock Saints?

Everything ok?
Mmm. maybe?
Ever seen Boondock Saints?
[ What is this Boondock of which you speak? Come on, man. Next you'll be asking me if I've ever seen Army of Darkness. Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.
I can't find peas on earth. I took ibuprofen, (that it was the only pain killer I didn't have to get out of bed for didn't hurt) and oddly enough, bananas, and it worked a treat. Then I bought new seatbelts for the Mustang. Whee!
I don't have anything sturdy enough around my dwelling, but I used to be able to do at least one or two at a gym.
Made this one a couple of days ago out of leftovers. A couple of 4x4s, part of a 2x4, and some old fence pipe, plus some cement I got for the furnace. I was using a circular bit that wasn't long enough for the pipe, so I'd drill an inch or two in the 4x4, then use the chisel to chip out the wood once the sides were cut by the drill.
J & B, for only the finest in rare distilled hangovers. (blended hangover, not single malt) Ouchie. Drank way too much last night. (see previous night's article). What's your favorite hangover cure? I'm trying ibuprofen, lots of water, and a hot bath. Hair of the dog is out right now, it'd probably cause major hurlage, plus I finished the bottle anyways. w00t. Yours in mild agony, nbs
ha ha - forget drunk dialing - drunk blogging is the way to go - BUT I have to say that next time I would stay away from open heat sources. And I can't even do one pull up? Who can do pull ups?
I can. Even drunk apparently. There were no heat sources. Just blogging about two things at once and too drunk at the time to keep them seperate properly.
