I think this is especially true for those of us in the US where we try to make everyone feel good and instill the idea that everybody should win (kids that play games all get trophies in some places so as to not hurt the losers feelings...) so it's no wonder with all these various factors affecting many of us here that our reactions to losing a little... over the top. Of course, no one wants to lose all the time, just human nature there.
I suppose most people would play this game fullscreen and devote all their attention to it (To suggest otherwise would be blasphemy )
You're showing your age there Achronous. Many "younger" people have a tough time concentrating on just one thing and get bored too easily for them to do this. Especially those hyped up on the many different "energy" drinks out there. Obviously, I'm generalizing her

Half the time I feel like my head is going to explode into supernova ninja stars after reading a Darca post.
LOL Yes, his style is a bit, unique, to say the least. Darca, you seem to like to put out there that you're a "writer", and you seem proud of it, but to be honest, your posting style is often filled with spelling and grammatical errors that don't paint you in a favorable li
This just seems to go against what the game is all about. Doesn't interest me in the least. But having said that, if it takes no resources/time away from the game's normal development process I see no harm in having it as an option, though I would never use it. If it does take too much away from development time then I agree, it should only be a mod.
Thank you sir! [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
Bummer, still no YouTube video today. [e digicons]X([/e]
Thanks everyone for watching! Thanks ParagonRenegade! We'll get this up on YouTube soon for sure so that some of the folks who were having issues with Twitch's streaming can enjoy the video.
Looking forward to that YouTube link!
We are in fact doing it again! I'll repost the second stream to YT for sure.
Thank you sir, on both counts! Looking forward to seeing what you guys do tomorrow.
Is this any where else? I never was able to view it and was wondering if there might be a copy on YouTube or else where. Thanks.
I don't want the sliders back. My biggest gripe with planetary production management in GC2 was that every time I increased points to one area of spending, the points were arbitrarily taken from the other two areas - usually the area I didn't want to lose points from. The wheel is a good step, but it needs work.
Why didn't you lock the slider you didn't want to move?
What will Black Holes do? I don't really know, but one thing is for sure, they will suck! ;) (okay, poor joke, I'm tired and it's been a looong day... :D )

Totally concur with Mr. EvilMaxWar here. Love the trailer and I'm also pretty pleased with the other things he has mentioned so no need to reiterate them all here again. After about 7+ hours of game play and just finishing one game with all races included, I've had no CTDs at all, haven't experienced some of the bugs mentioned other then the two things I posted about in another thread. Brad mentioned that they were concerned about the state of the alpha before release and that he
...I'm also concerned about how ShipYards would work in combat. Do you take them over? If you can take over ShipYards ports that seems very powerful and potentially game breaking. One way to allow ShipYards caputre but not have the game turn into Turn1-capture, Turn2-DEATH STAR, maybe have starports have 'levels'. Larger ships need a larger 'level' ShipYards made via either constructors, or by 'manufacturing' a module on
Yes it is... sorry english is not my native language
I would not have guessed that English wasn't your native language based on the body of your post. (that's a compliment to you, just to be clear!) The only reason I looked at this thread was that I didn't understand the Subject.
"Firts Though"? Wait, I think I got it, "First Thoughts"? Is that what you meant to type?
Regarding the auto save feature, I would like to see a way of distinguishing between two different games running concurrently. Many times I will play more than one game at a time where one I'll play as evil terrans, for example, and the other one I'll play a good custom race. With GalCiv2 it just defaults to Autosave as the name. Of course I can name my saves individually but numbering the games (ala XCOM:EW) or in corpora ting at least the date/time might help. Just thinking off the
Yes, I'm a bit surprised that we still don't have a place (private forum) where we can openly discuss these private things in detail without inadvertently spilling the beans. I've always had that with other software that I've beta tested before, gaming and general software. Anyway,I really like what I've read in the vault!
Finally got around to seeing how much of my 8 cores get used and by how much. For an Alpha I was surprised that it was using all 8 cores, though cores 2 and 8 seem to be the lowest utilized so far, typically hovering around the 5-25% rate, while cores 4, 5, and 7 seem to get the most usage, being typically in the 70 percentile range throughout. Overall CPU usage tends to stay between 45-49%. The temps do get quite high though but nothing that I haven't seen before or that this CPU can'

We believe that there is an issue where the "eject ship" command was incorrectly linked to "eject cargo" protocol. This resulted in your cargo being jettisoned into space. We hope to have this issue resolved soon.
Drat! I just hate when that happens. lol Time to buy some more aphrodisiacs.
