Well, here's my first attempt at a Trooper ship using a cargo hull, I know, pretty crappy, but I'm new at this. :)

I actually did try doing that but had forgotten that I changed my scroll wheel button (my middle mouse button) to show/hide the desktop. Once I read your reply and changed it back to being a middle button it worked perfectly.
I haven't had a chance to watch the twitch stream yet so I don't know if it's covered there, but I still haven't figured out how to rotate the camera around the ship/rotate the ship to see it from different angles. I mean if you don't have any modules/components selected (I know how to rotate those easily enough), how do you rotate it? It's probably something very obvious in front of my face but I'm just not seeing it. Thanks.

I can see a lot of keyboards getting massive wear and tear on their F5 keys today... :)
Yes, good read. Looking forward to trying out the next release when it's ready, very much so!
I blame the dog for this delay.
ROTFLMAO! Those canines can be awfully pesky at times.
That's pretty friggin' wild! Will be fun to finally get to play around with this puppy. Thanks for sharing it.
... I keep telling myself that waiting is fun. Unfortunately, I know better than to listen to me.
LOL, I hear you, erischild, unfortunately we know ourselves way too well to fall for that type self deception.
Are you behind on schedule?
Of course not. Re-read the subject: "The GalCiv III tentative schedule!" Nothing was written in stone so they are not behind other than maybe where they would like to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm impatient as hell to get my grubby little hands on the latest build but in the software development process stuff happens that affects schedules all the time, comes w
Yes, it was noticed by others but I figured I would wait until the next release to see if it was still there before posting about it as they have to have noticed this themselves. Unless, of course, DARCA was their proof reader... (J/K DARCA! ;) )
Sounds cool but I honestly don't see it happening for release, unless they have already planned on doing something similar to what you propose. Maybe for an expansion though?
UPDATE: Plans, as they often do, changed a bit on us. The ship designer preview will be on Friday, May 2, at 3pm Eastern (noon Pacific, 9pm CET). See you there!
There you guys go again! Dangling that carrot only to snatch it away as we go to grab it. Can you be any crueler?😉
I have to agree with econundrum1 here. I understand what you're asking for but I don't think the developers will be inclined to do it for the stated reasons, i.e., might take too much away from the individualized strategies that people come up with and this is a strategy game after all and they wouldn't want to tie you down to one particular path based on your generalized outline of being a "starbase guru", imho.
Thanks for the heads up! Glad to see Paul is such an animal lover. As for not hating you guys too much... the jury is still out on that one. ;)
No. The kind of harassment I'm speaking of has been in 'competitive' online multiplayer gaming since the beginning. The words being used and the medium have simply changed. Years ago you would get it in typed chat. Now you hear it over the in-game/lobby voice chat. Plus griefing in online games has actually become a pastime for many. That is to say, the act of intentionally doing nothing else bu

I figured as much but was/am still holding onto the hope that something is "right around the corner" and I felt this thread was quit suitable to demonstrate my impatience once again. A man can only hold in so much excitement before it just starts to burst forth... :D
