I was wondering what an acceptable number of skins might be needed to qualify a person to create a web page here on WC. I know I am quite far from any realistic quantity of skins to be called a skinner. Any ideas? 20 skins, 30 skins, 50 skins... I would feel a little rediculus making a web page with 4 object dock icon sets and a few screenshots. :p
Could do without the ads. Some different colors to offset the white might be nice. I definitely like the speed difference. :LOL:

Thanx. Question on vectors. I have PaintShop Pro also, and my question is: do you make your design as a vector layer - and do you set up the tools before creating to prevent ragged edges? Then rasterize? Or remain as vectors and save as PNG for instance?
Can anyone help me with getting rid of, or avoiding, jagged edges in Photoshop 7? I am trying to design some wallpapers (with the intent of designing skins later), but I keeping getting "zaggies" on my object edges. Not an issue if the edges are created at either 45 or 90 degrees. Just happened by here, so a couple of simple points. 1) SP2 is the abbreviation for Service Pack 2, in this case, for Windows XP. It has a number of features that focus on protecting your computer during downloads. 2) I would start by right-clicking the .zip file after you download it and select extract to the folder the .zip file is in. Politely questioning someones integrity in a situation like this usually sends the message clearly and keeps things civil at the same time. Martin, A small comment from someone who is just learning to script, but has alot of experience in Quality Control standards and documentation. This is probably the best idea I have seen here at WC in the 6 months I have been a subscriber. A great way to prevent loss of quality and a fantastic tool for anyone with an interest in creating highly compatible products. FYI, The best tool for selecting the parts of image in the exercise above is probably the "magic wand". Press "Shift" while clicking edges of arrow to select it all.
babi babi, Have you tried exporting the icon as a .png with transparency into a folder and opening it in photoshop? You should be able to select the arrow portion in photoshop and cut & paste it to a new document with the same pixel dimensions and a transparent background. If that works successfully, then use Hue/Saturation (Ctrl+U), select the "colorize" button in the dialog and use the slider control (or text boxes) to adjust the cirle to your liking, then sa

Tryzub, You may be correct in the diplay limitation of my machine. I purchased a computer with onboard graphics and no AGP slot (bad move). The drivers are correct (direct from Intel) - Extreme Graphics 2 for XP pro. Will be building my own machine within a year, so all these programs from stardock will at least be supplied with plenty of graphic resources including the new PCI express bus. DesktopX pros: Currently I am using DX for it's "great ability" to provide very useful objects on the desktop that I can actually read without having to squint (unlike the 32 x 32 icons). Same issue as sjukmidlands. Not prompted to enter key. Clicked on animation object at it's top left corner (after using the obvious button at lower corner to set location and measurement settings) and was prompted to enter preferrence for animation speed fast, medium, slow. I entered medium, and the object proceeded to drop the black textured border. Clicking in the top left corner failed to produce the preferrence prompt again. A bit confusing after that.<br
Brad, Thanks for the video link. Followed the steps you provided in the video after updating both WB and SkinStudio. Went to start menu after installing and opened My Pictures directory and the shell style had changed. Checked My Music, My Documents - all worked. jvenables, You might want to check out the article named "DesktopX &" from September 3rd - currently located on WC homepage and watch the "Supericons 2" video tutorial (if you have Windows Media Player 9 or above). Brad runs through the designing of the text button (object) and grouping it with a drive icon in the video and is quite clear about setting the script.
