Started a new game as humans vs all but the Iridium, largest size spiral galaxy. First time start-up was a little longer than previous, but nothing like other comments so far on the  board, probably about a minute. Played with no problems at first, but the longer I played, the slower things got. I saved, exited, cleared the exe file from memory, and restarted. I guess what ever you guys put in to track your new versions continues to grab memory until you patch it so it cleans up again.

Did some tech trading with the other races, except the Drengs went to war at about turn 100. I kept playing, until the game would really slow, then would exit and restart. Around turn 166 the game just froze. l had to use ctl-alt-dlt to end it. I went back in twice, but I still can not get the turn to end.
