I just did my first game of Beta 6. I want it known that I enjoyed my match, there's a lot to like, and I believe the game is in a great state. But this being beta and you want our feedback, in this post I'm focusing on improvements that I think could be made to the game, some possibly by release, some by the first patch. Below are some observations. It is possible some of the things I mention are actually in the game, I just didn't know where to look. Also I'm not going to talk much about balance or AI, as I know those things are in constant flux.
General
I played a Quickstart match (Terrans, Tiny galaxy, normal AI). My opponents were the Altarians. I initially went Benevolent and went for a Diplomatic victory. I got extremely lucky finding and colonizing 2 Lush, 2 Paradise, and 1 Perfect planet, while the Altarians only found one Lush planet outside their system. While I definitely got a way better start, I noted that I did not once feel any pressure from the Altarians in achieving victory. Late into the game I did a trade deal and they had no military ships, despite having researched a lot of military tech. Is there something the AI can do to make a diplomatic victory more difficult?
I'd like to see the AI offer more interesting trade deals. We humans trade a lot to get the things we want. I didn't see the AI doing it all that much.
Bugs
In a prior beta I had a constructor with two constructor modules thanks to some miniaturization tech. In this game, that constructor was buildable despite not having miniaturization, and the ship being overloaded. I shouldn't be able to build an overloaded "User" ship.
Global Happiness in the top right reads 99 when all my planets are at 100.
Modifying "Manage -> Govern Planet" production does not change the manufacturing queue times. You have to exit the Govern screen and go back to see the changes.
In the Colonies tab, production icons are in the wrong place.
Research and Production overflow is still not obvious since the progress bar for the next item in queue still initially reads no progress.
Requests
When I modify the Govern Civilization production wheel/sliders, I'd like to be able to see in real time how that affects the production on all my planets, shipyards, and my research tree. I know that it's possible to get some feedback in the Colonies tab, but that is not convenient enough, and also that doesn't help with research.
I'd like to be able to see the number of turns until completion of research without needing to hover.
When I modify the Govern Planet production wheel/sliders, I'd like to be able to see in real time how that affects the manufacturing queue (already mentioned above), shipyard queue, and research. Changes to the first item in queue is viewable in the Planets list and the Starbases list, but I'd like to see changes to the full queue when modifying from "Manage -> Govern Planet".
When you Cancel a ship from the shipyard, you lose all that production. If that's how you want it, make an "Are you sure?" dialog. -or-
I would like to ability to change a ship mid-construction. That is, a ship that is partially constructed could be turned into another ship, and the production from the source ship would be applied to the destination ship. This is how it worked in GC2.
As I understand one-turn production overflow, you can build up a production stockpile over many turns. I'd like to be able to see how much is in that stockpile. Another post just showed me how to find this by hovering over the queue and seeing the Accrued points. Awesome! Now I'd like to be able to see it in a Planet list.
I'd like the ability to tell a planet to not automatically upgrade its improvements (due to queue ordering and maintenance concerns). I could swear that was at one time possible.
I'd like to be able to see turns to Ascension victory for all races going for it.
**** HERE IS MY BIGGEST REQUEST ****

I'd like to create custom production specialization profiles, and be able to easily apply that profile to multiple planets. See the above link for specifics. I think one cool thing about my suggestion is that the AI could also make use of it, making the AI smarter about how it develops and specializes planets.
Unusual things I saw that aren't necessarily bugs
Shipyards seem really expensive. It's much better to build a constructor and send it out.
The Defended icon is yellow on the planet list, but green on the map.
Minor races keep repeatedly contacting me just to say some flavor text.
Shipyard sponsor lines and trade route lines look the same.
The AI colonized Mars. It flipped after about 40 turns.
