It's nice, but what I'd really like to see is Stardock really give ObjectEdit some up to date support. Whilst community creativity is the heart of WinCustomize, the fact remains that there is a base level of functionality that Stardock should be giving a product like OE - which in so many other ways is a very polished tool. I love OE, but I don't want to spend ages messing around with the syn files when I'm coding in a widely recognised language. Out of the box I think it should certain

I like it a lot. However, it would be handy if there was a bit more info on the favourite skins - i.e. what category they're in, and a name as before. Otherwise I'll end up clicking on skins for applications I'm not interested in.
I've been saying this should be in Windows for years! It's great that they've finally put it in. One question though: How does it handle resizing to different resolutions - is it smooth, or will things looked jagged and pixelly?
Gamespot has an article about making your Windows XP computer look like it's running Vista. It mentions Windowblinds as well as other Stardock products.
Keep us posted on cool features/improvements of Vista! Oh, and welcome back Brad! Missed ya'
Actually it's a brilliant marketing decision. All of us arguing about it here and on other sites are giving Nintendo all the publicity they could ever need. The 360 and PS3 never evoked this much of a response when they were revealed.
A simple question: I have looked in the developer's guide and searched these forums, too, and was unable to find an answer. How do you include a wallpaper in a DestopX theme, such that when the theme is applied, the wallpaper is too?
If you look back at that Longhorn screenshot, doesn't it look to you that those titlebars aren't simply transparent? They seems to be almost translucent - the text behind is really blurred as if it were actually being viewed through a pane of thick glass or something. Will WB do that ?
One thing I'd find very helpful is a "find as you type" function (similar to that in Firefox) in windows explorer. eg. If I'm looking at a folder with a thousand files in it I should just be able to type in a few letters from the name of one of those files and have it displayed a filtered view of the folder.
Just the skin. It's a file that you open with the BootSkin executable and it then imports the skin, creating a folder in the skins subdirectory with the three files.
Update: Instead of using the BootSkin export feature, I just zipped up the three files and renamed it as a .bootskin. That works fine and is only about 54KB. So what is the export feature for? If it is just supposed to zip them up and give them the right extension, should I report this as a bug?
I've created a new BootSkin (nearly ready to upload to WinCustomize - just wait a few more days!). The files that make it up (the background, progress bar, and ini file) come to about 150KB. As well as this, most of the .bootskins available on WinCustomize seem to be between 10-100KB. However, when I selected "Export selected skin to file.." in BootSkin I ended up with a .bootskin file 2.32 MB in size. Any ideas why?
I've set up ObjectBar and it now does everything I had RightClick doing... And it still just requires a keyboard shortcut. Apart from looking slightly different it doesn't do anything new... So I guess I should just go and get a mouse that will allow me to assign a key combination to a mouse button, and then use that key combination (triggered from my mouse) to show the menu? Okay. Thanks
Sorry, I must have not made myself clear If you right-click on the desktop that does work. But if you want to bring up the RC menu at any time instead of just when you're on the desktop you have to use a keyboard shortcut.
wow! pretty amazing it could learn and differentiate between so many different audio cues - assuming that was what it was doing. Don't ask me
I really like the idea of RightClick and want to be able to use it. However, having to trigger the menu through a keyboard hotkey makes it more cumbersome - when browsing the web (or whatever) I'd have to keep one hand contantly ready to press a key combination (eg. Winkey, Alt+`). While this wouldn't be impossible, using the mouse to call up a pop-up menu is a lot more natural. Is it possible to assign a mouse button (especially if you
