I don't feel it adds more tactics, it actually takes it away. 1. you can't trap enemy fleets who didn't bother to scout. 2. It slowed incursions before because you couldn't jump period, so that is not a legitimate concern. 3. Due to #1. there is less reason to scout because the consequences of a phase inhibitor are nill, bypassing systems isn't usually a good idea. 4. How does it make sense to only affect your lanes... last time I checks laws of physics even f

I dunno the flag ship assassination just seems to mean to me, so I thought of few other variants. Capital Assassination: you cannot change your capital, if your homeworld is destroyed, you lose. Supply Lines: if you have a planet/roid that is not adjacent to another colony, the buildings stop working, and the culture/loyalty decrease very very quickly. (I would just have this be standard in the game personally) Super-Flagships: your flagships have double h

You know I havn't noticed because I havn't been able to play too much, but the changelog states that your wonderful phase inhibitors are only going to block transit to your own lanes... meaning enemy fleets in a system with a blocker can still retreat to neutral or their friendly systems. If thats true I have to say Im VERY against it. 1. I don't think it makes sense. 2. Its very expensive for something not half as useful anymore. 3. There is less reason to scout target

Don't be soft, root them out and cull their infestation, but offer them the chance to see you play before we execute them. I like your pro and con system shadow hal so I'm going to imitate it. ______________________________________________________________________________________ -Conquest Frontier Wars- I played it very extensively. Pros: Supply System (needed to be said again!) Cons: Buggy Multiplayer _________________________________________

yeah well aside from topic conservatism, I also mentioned strategies, such as good pairings and in particular the command cruiser, and the concepts there of. You know more than one topic about one thing isn't bad, its when there are ten you need to start herding. I knew there was other topics, I started this one to talk about it and some other things, starting from my point of view. in the words of somebody "chilax" Hmmm 8 command cruisers eh, well I'll give it a shot

So what with the new version they have implemented something I love, the choice of your starting flagship! Which has allot in common with the hero selection system of War Craft III... So what are people choosing for their starting ships I wonder? My choices revolve around the Akkan Battlecruiser, mostly because its good enough to get rid of starting pirates by itself, it helps your early frigate fleets against more pirates, and it can colonize on the go rapidly enough that you

Well fascinating, did a uninstall and reinstall, and applied those beta drivers... my missing textures have returned but sadly I can no longer load save games, as that crashes the game. I made new save games first of course, i didn't load up old ones. Sadly this means I won't know if my space elevators are disappearing...

I think what explains the movement concept is such A. friendly space means the ship is not taking the time to avoid say random collisions of possible hidden space mines... For whatever reason the idea is that cautious ships IE ships in combat zones would be slower... in ground warfare certainly true, and under some circumstances or technical issues I can see this in space... not easily though B. In friendly space one can argue the nearby planet is providing logistical supply su

NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT Dual processors, Intel 6400 Totaling @ 2.13 Ghz 2 Gig Ram, Look I'm not into too much terminology, you can be a know it all Ron, but you don;t need to rub me the wrong way with it Hope thats a little better for you

Yes I did uninstall and reinstall... if anything I'm imagining that the installation somehow missed those files and I plan on uninstalling and reinstalling... Again.

Alright I just mostly finished a game on easy... 1. The texture glitches are odd... missing textures for the cursor, the dreadnaught, the light carrier, the heavy shipyard... and space elevators still disappear. 2. Pirate bases are great, and I think the pirates are adequately defended, though over time the pirates should build up a few turrets, hell even squadron hangers. Also I feel that a few pirate versions of the ... hmmm utility capital ship IE the one which can colonize

My system is pretty nice, 2ghz 2 gig ram, 512 mb video. Also missing various textures, the big capital shipyard, and the light carrier cruiser are super super dark, with blue highlights, and no gray

SO Pre-Patch would load a save game, all space elevators disappear traffic remains. Post-Patch load a save game, space elevators disappear, traffic ... dims? or rather loses dimensionality... seemed fine on some planets, and on other unless you viewed from a very specific angle there was no visible traffic. Hope it helps.

I'm not being negative, I was just realllly sad when these things happened... 1. Started game for a little bit, and found that every time I stopped scrolling with the keys it made the 'click' sound effect... the madness... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH 2. Quite and came back, and now, upon start I get a series of errors that tell me Im missing the cursor textures. Hard to play like that... sigh..

the only issue with that, is that updates to the game will inevitably replace said images, so back those up! I assumed you had the old version because this post is regarding that version lol... not that it matters... I'd be interested to see what minors you've made... I just started work on version 5; which currently already boosts the 60 or so images to 75, but I'm aiming for 100 Race Images, and increasing the minor count from 35 to 50. Not to mention more custom rac

So a long time ago I replaced the Psyonic beam sound effect with that of a Dalek saying EXTERMINATE!!! and ever since, now when I play my wonderful Daleks, (i designed tiny daleks as ships lol) they fly and swoop and fire saying their best catch phrase... and I ensure that every design can have at least one psyonic weapon. Now I have a new idea; A whole new set of weapon components, that exist purely to add sound flavor to your units. Each component is simply named '

Firstly; No I do not believe I have ever heard or seen a way to spawn the regular minor races. Secondly, I wish we could set minor race to up to 10 or even 30 lol Thirdly, I'm happy you downloaded this mod, but that must have been a while back, I Highly suggest you uninstall it and apply Gauntlet's Race Mod 3.0 and then add the 4.0 package. Hope it helps. Oh yeah one last thing; since the random race does select from a small sampling of the original race image

Well against 6 opponents and 50 planets my PC still runs this game great! But I did notice some more graphical issues... 1. Disappearing tether/traffic stations happens rarely, even if the game is not a save game, when it is a save game, they all just disappear forever... 2. Ship explosions not happening, tends to happen when their is an excessive amount of firepower, the ship dies and disappears it does not explode. 3. Having 30 Capital Ships together at onc
