Yea, I just realized something lastnight. My brain made it's little rapid-firing of nerve endings and a thought formed. My husband loves that Galactic Civilization game. He plays it all the time. Well, he was playing the demo all the time. He just bought it on ebay or something and we're waiting for it to get here. He thinks it's "badass" and other such adjectives. So yea. I think we should make harsher punishments. Our judicial system just doesn't work worth a flip. If someone steals something, their hand should be surgically removed. It's not cruel and unusual. They can be sedated. They'll live the rest of their life remembering what they lost that hand for, and how it wasn't worth it. A few years in jail is just a paid vacation for these people. You know I've been reading a lot. Between Dr Spock and Anthony E Wolf, I think I may be learning how to be a better parent. I went from a single mom with 1 child to a married mom with 4 kids. Everyone has some good in them. Modern "society" has gotten so used to the violence that it often times doesn't phase them. Living life in the fast lane has caused a sort of horse race quality to life. Most people have "blinders", they see what is going on around them because they're too worried about themselves and their family. General awareness has fallen so severely it amazes me that people don't walk into walls and doors more often just for not seeing them. :|
That's so typical- the comfort level isn't there yet so you have to struggle to impress the new girl. It's kind of odd how it works out, because if you end up seeing your ex while out with your new girl she'll be upset wondering what it was about her that made you not want to look clean.....at least on a subconcious level...

Amen to that, if my husband were sent over, and I saw him on tv before hearing it, I think I would lose my mind. I couldn't handle something like that at all.

I was thinking - which is always quite dangerous - that maybe they lie on the contents panels of cereal boxes. Actually I was enraged. The particular person who told me to "chill" happens to be a very young, very green, very control hungry individual. I was more upset at her gall to tell me to not state health facts in a public forum than anything else--afterall, I wasn't advocating for terrorism or anything.
