Well, my 2 cents. If I buy a game I want to be able to do with it what I want. The only fair restriction is that I should only run one instance at a time. I'm with KingBingo on the DRM. A game which only allows three activations (and one extra if you are lucky on the phone) is simply a no-go for me. There is no game in the world good enough for me to accept that kind of nonsense.

thesaucier, I assume you got the automated response email which is sent immediately after you create your ticket. If not, you supplied the wrong email address or the email is caught in a SPAM filter. But even then, normal turn-around time for a ticket seems to be around two to three business days currently, even for the simple close message after a problem is solved. So be patient. Be very patient ;)
Either update objectbar so it can truly replace the Vista taskbar (i.e. do everything the Taskbar does, but better, right not it is a bit lacking in some areas), or integrate objectbar (or something like it) with the taskbar, i.e. the ability to add a appbar to the taskbar which offers me my own menu. Also, a proper Start menu replacement would be nice. The way programs install themselves in the All Programs menu makes it practically useless.
A little late, but have you tried rebooting after changing a dream? I know it should not be behave this way, but I found Deskcapes also buggy beyond believe if you tried to change a dream. After a reboot the dream often would run just fine (until I changed the dream again). Even then, some dreams just won't work at all.

Well, one example is not really proof is it? Of course there will be stupid people, and you will also find examples of predatory lenders. In the latter case, the people might be entitled to some compensation. But not by the tax-payers. It should be by the lenders. Let the lenders pay for their irresponsible behaviour in those cases that warrant it. And yes, that probably means lawsuits.
Well, obviously I am. But I installed it from my English Vista Home Premium disk with the CD-Key of my Dutch Ultimate upgrade disks using the upgrade yourself trick (my 32-bit Ultimate disk was damaged). I'm running it in English although the Dutch language pack is installed, and I've installed every update Windows Update offered me, except for most other language packs.

TeeggerToo, just to let you know you are not the only one with this problem. I experience the same on a clean Vista32 Ultimate installation, using Impulse. (And yes, Stardock support is working on my ticket).
It depends on what you want of course. If all you are interested in is shared diskspace, buy some network disks and be done with it. Underwater they are probably using Linux anyway, but you don't have to worry about it. It just works. If you want a bit more flexibility, I would choose Windows Home Server. I must say I did a very quick test right after I received my new serial and didn't experience the battle of activations. I only needed IconPackager to change an individual icon for a program I used on an ObjectDock anyway, so I'm not too worried. And Seabass, so I can expect a resolution to my LogonStudio Vista ticket soon? :LOL:
All right, just as a follow up for those searching these forums in the months to come, Stardock support really does exist ;) , and they solved my problem. It appeared I had one of the original Object Desktop serials which format could no longer be handled by the activation checks. I got a new serial and now it works.
Well, Seabass certainly knows how to make an almost meaningless statement ;) Still, given the apparant abandonment of several other parts of My Desktop, it is good to know that ObjectDock will get a serious update, although not anytime soon. I can wait a few months I guess. And I do hope they'll focus on the right issues on this update. ObjectDock is a nice application IMHO, but it just lacks those finishing touches which would make it a great one.
Well, my folder is also called skin, but I can rename it to whatever I want, LogonStudio won't work. That is on a fresh Vista-32 machine and installed through Impulse.
My guess is that there won't be an update. There are several Object Desktop applications which didn't make it from XP to Vista and apparently this is one of them. If there would be one, you would have had a reaction from a Stardock representative by now.
Well, I have a variant to this issue. I installed IconPackager through Impulse and the application itself runs fine. And when the 'apply' of the 'change icon' tab is selected I get the activation popup. But as IconPackager is part of my Object Desktop subscription, I don't have a separate serial number for IconPackager. And it doesn't accept my Object Desktop serial number as a valid one. So, basically I'm stuck. The joys of product activation :(
I am one of the guys who likes the 'personal' in PC. I want my computer to support my way of working instead of the other way around. And although a nice look of the desktop is important, productivity is more important to me. My customizations should make life easier for me, not harder. Also I'm pragmatic, I don't want to spend all my time tweaking my computer. I will invest some time, but after that it should be finished. Oh yeah, and I'm lazy :D , I am happy to use what others hav
Thanks for the reply. I did use the search function of the forum before I made my post, but a search on ThinkDesk returned no results (:( So basically it is dead, but StarDock hasn't gotten around to properly burry it yet ;) A shame they couldn't make this one work.
