I didn't contact the author first for three reasons. Primarily because, it seems to me the more established authors get sick of people bugging them and either delay in replying or ignore specific requests. Not saying so of this author, but can't say I blame them. Secondly, the fact he changed the skin here, on dA, and other sites might mean he's just overwritten it, and doesn't have all previous builds. Thirdly, the site's "Email User" function doesn't work for me in either firefox or IE. <
That very well might be it! As long as it matches the screenshot it should be. The site's email function is being weird, so here goes nothing. In Windows explorer, go to your c:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds folder and put the Eminence folder into a .zip or .rar file. I really love rjsmith2007's Eminence windowblind. He had made it just about perfect - and then he updated it . It's still a great skin, but I preferred the next to last version. I don't think there is a huge killer app for Vista. From 3.1 to 95 was a huge leap. From the wreck of 98/Me to the 2K-based XP was huge (note many people did not even bother to make the 2K to XP switch). There is nothing compelling about Vista, especially considering the upgrades a lot of people will need to run it. MS' biggest competition is their installed base. Look at Office for example. Who honestly needs more than Office 97 or 2000? 2003 was not necessary, and 2007 is just more bloat.
I use gaim. I keep wanting to go back to GAIM but it just doesn't have the full functionality of each client service it connects to. It's ok in a pinch, but there is zero webcam support last i checked, shitty or no voice, and direct sends of files and pictures is spotty. Just to elaborate. If you right click on the taskbar and cascade windows, then the first window, the one top left, the titlebar is cut in half. So however windowblinds spawns a new window of any sort, the values are slightly off in the skin. C'mon, I'm trying to help myself here. Can anyone who knows what's happening please help?
I downloaded the fabulous Jadaero 1.2 WB skin, but I have a problem. Firefox and internet explorer and a number of other programs which spawn pop up windows for any reason, the top half of the titlebar is cut off (meaning it's above the top of my screen, so I have to drag the window down). Very nice. There were almost too many good skins. I'm glad the love is being spread around. Biggest winners are us users though. Usually maybe one good skin comes out every two or three weeks, GREAT ones longer. This brought out the best of some of the master skinners, so thanks to all of you for making my comp beautiful.
Thanks for the reply Cavan1. I only just downloaded it again today. Try this, double click the Caption bar to maximise, then move your mouse to the top of your screen, and click. Notice you are not clicking on the window, you have to move the cursor one or two pixels down to do so. Hopefully you can replicate the problem and it's not unique to my setup. I rediscovered Stetz, Snidely's port of a skin by Brewman, I think. One problem, when maximized there is a gap at the top which makes double clicking to restore a little harder than it needs to be. This issue was also present in brewman's Rebutz2 skin, but he fixed it. I'd love if he, Snidely or anyone who knows could tell me how to do it, so I could just go into skinstudio and try to fix it myself. Sorry to repost, but i got 2 replies in general til i realised there was a whole help section where i should have posted. Re: sysmetrix 3. Downloaded Sys 3.0 and installed it. Had never used it before. Loaded P98 skin (it's great) and all works well until i right clicked by accident on the program. Crashed. Uninstalled, tried diff skins. Downloaded 2.xx for reference. 2.0 does not crash. But it does not have the weather thing, so I'd love if someone could help me clear it up. System spe

It doesn't seem to matter what I do. Even right-clicking the icon in the system tray crashes it, hence I can't get into the config anymore. Only can do that on a fresh install. I think too after a fresh install it right-clicks fine until i get the weather, i get the weather just fine, then afterwards i try to right click and boom! crashout. It might be a bug in the program itself. Just wondered if anyone had has this happen and if so how they fixed it. don 1 shott3r

Sorry if i was unclear. in msg i noted that 3.0 was my first experience of any kind with sysmetrix. had never had any previous version on my machine. and that is where probs started. only installed 2 after i took 3 off for reference. 2 didn't crash but it lacks weather features of 3. thanks for trying to help. any more suggestions?
