Hello! I have been finding it hard to find answers on anything as a new player to the GalCiv series, but usually after enough digging I find the answer and it seems obvious. Except these couple I cannot figure out. Question 1 - When I research new ship improvements (like new kinetic weapons or something), do all my existing ships with kinetic weapons get that upgrade automatically? I assume not, leading to question 2. <b
I'm playing my first serious game, turn 90-ish, two neighbours declared war on me. We are roughly the same strengt. I have one military star base protecting one planet that is the closest to one enemy faction. I have basic weapons, 17 logistics size, and a few fully upgraded fleet (armor, shields lv 1) I have another neighbour that is the most powerful, maybe they can help out? How do i survive this? [/

If you want to go through a Black Hole. I would have built that one further to the left so as to skim the BH to the left of the leftmost antimatter.

I see it happen sometimes, but not to this extent.
That is the fix Derek was supposed to implement
I have noticed that AI-controlled civilizations will send fleets of ships WITHOUT a survey ship to attack ship graveyards. The result of this is that I can collect the contents of the ship graveyard with one of my survey ships without having to fight any defenders. The first screen snapshot below shows that an Onyx Hive fleet is going to attack a ship graveyard on their next turn (see the first screen snapshot below to see how I can see where they
What range does the commander ship refer to? Im talking about the Maranna commander ship from the Defensive warships, that has the ability 20% approval to all worlds in range and 30% growth to all worlds in range. What range?
Ships like Starbases usually have a range of 5 initially. Never used this ship so this is just a guess.

If it's a feature, it's either kinda rare to go to the player, or I've just never been liked that much [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Player is rare as the Player is usually the aggressor, however it has been reported since I joined the Forums back during the reign of GC1.

Anything that you can trade more than one of in a trade deal. I want a new option for it, remove. With it, you can remove an offer of credits (or other resource) by clicking

Search for the how 2s on you-tube and the AARs here and on Discord they will help answer your questions. That said the game seems to be better liked by posters than GC3, though it does have its distractors. Ignore any that are complaining about it not being on Steam as their criticism is given in light of disappointment of it not being there and may not even be reviews by people that own the game. Hope you get the info you need.
Oh, the numbers aren't really a concern per se, it's more about what happens as time goes on, will they reach a point of starting to impact the game performance. As I am right now, I am watching the critters do their random shuffle for upwards of 2 minutes at the start of my turn. I've already gone past 200 turns before contacting one of the AI races in the next cluster over. Why? Because right at the gate there are at least two Pe
You could always use outdated ships to defend military starbases. Military starbases makes it impossible to conquer planets within their AoE, but their defenses are weak, hence why you should consider giving them ships to defend them. Its not the optimal solution, but its all I got. I also don't like the fact the devs changed upgrading to be a level up system. It used to work fine back when upgrading retrofitted your ships.<br
Sorry should’ve specified - meant the having to create a waypoint to fudge upgrading ships. If they’re just not meant to be upgraded that’s one thing, but I’d like to think you could upfit them at a star base, shipyard, colony etc
This has been discussed since the start of Beta if not sooner. From what I have read here and on discord upgrading any ships other than leader or sur
The solution to all of this pain would be if we could "control" each of our ships (if we so chose) for each battle (again, if we so chose). We could then select how many ships targeted the enemy, how many fired, where the ships maneuvered, what they did during battle, where they attempted to flee or not or self destruct, and which weapons to fire on each enemy ship. Master of Orion 1 and 2 did that masterfully as well as other gems includi

You can keep leaders indefinitely after purchase without assigning them. To kill the improvement you want gone simply click on it you will get an option to destroy it. Then fire the leader. You then should be able to select a new build for the colony. Might take a turn or three however never tried it myself.

I have reinstalled and it's still happening. The game is broken for me atm.
Have you customized your colony ships? Are these ships you purchased with control points? If you customized your colony ships did you delete the original colony ship?
Yeah, I hope it gets fixed as well. Balancing it would be if they can't or don't have time to make a better system. Unfortunately they never fixed the GC III system so I don't know if there's enough incentive or desire to fix the GC 4 system. I would like to see an official poll asking what improvements players would most like to see added or worked on in the game. Combat is top on my list, but I'm inte
