I had a copy of desktopx_public.exe (v2.4) on another box so I copied it to this box and reinstalled it. I'm back to being a happy camper. I think I'll wait for DX3 to "mature" a little before I try it again. At a minimum I'll wait until there are "things" developed for DX3 (like the web site) and a Longhorn theme.

I have uninstalled DX so I can't try your suggestion. I'm trying to figure out a way to get 2.4 back. If I can't do that I'll try what you suggested.
Popup menu with these items Configure DesktopX.. DesktopX Welcome Import.. Load Desktop..
There is no option to unload DX when right clicking on the icon in the system tray.
I've looked through the doc but don't see instructions for doing this. Killing the task in TaskManager is a bit extreme but so far that's the only thing I've found that works.
ExodusCrow, The Longhorn theme is what I really want back. I found a copy of Longhorn.dxtheme on another computer but when I load it under V3 it doesn't look right. The background is mostly black with streaks of the blue I expect. Corky, WIll it work with V3?
I have upgraded DesktopX to V3 before thinking about how few objects would be available. SInce i'm not into creating my own things I need to have the things from others. I cannot find a link to the last pre-V3 version. I tried restoring via SD but that didn't work very well even if SD thought it did. If the same sample widgets, objects, themes were available for V3 that were shipped as part of V2.4 I would consider sticking with V3. Actually, I'm surpr
Let me rephrase my question. If it is possible, how do I change the one object that is in the default longhorn theme? I'm not sure what the object is called but I would like to add new things to it like a weather object. Can this be done?
I actually tried to do that yesterday and it crashed DeskTopX. Do the objects or widgets have to any certain properties to be able to add them to a theme such as the default Longhorn theme?
Is it possible to add new widgets or objects to the default Lognhorn theme included with DesktopX? Feel free to point me to documentation if it exists. In my looking around I didn't see what I was looking for. ...Thanks
