Re: Yahoo 6. Windowblinds can Skin YMsgr 6.0 - you just have to turn off skinning in Ymsgr itself. Re: Palm - while it would be nice to have skins, I didn't think the Palm was skinnable? All I'm aware of are color schemes.

I've found blogs to be fairly balanced. Admittedly, there seems to be a conservative bias on JoeUser - at least the users I read (which are few). However, I normally frequent LiveJournal, and it seems a bit more liberal. However, everall, it seems quite balanced. What there -is- that isn't in "traditional media", is that the extremists on both sides get to have a voice. I've seen some extremely conservative viewpoints that are offensive, but a

I watched the movie "Adaptation" (Starring Nicholas Cage) last night... It was "pretty good". I think Cage over-acted the part a bit. The protagonist has a fear of social situations, and spends all of his time second-guessing things he does, and what people thinka bout him, and it ends up paralyzing him socially so that he can't participate normally in societ

Yes, it's a pitiful introduction. I have another blog/journal over at LiveJournal, but I'm planning on posting things here that I want to share with a more "public" audience. So, just consider this a statement of purpose.

Yes, you can revert to a previous version. If you auto-archived the old one, you can restore it from the menus (File->Restore Archive). Otherwise, you can go back to the last non-beta version. You can do that by de-&#115electing "Show Pre-Release Versions" at the bottom of the screen in SDC, and then check for app updates again. The older version should show as an "update" now. In either case, be sure to save your theme just in case something goes awry.

You know, when rednecks get "photos" of UFO's they're usually about this blurry. I've seen a lot of video clips and slideshows claiming that it was a piece of paper, yet they're all incredibly fuzzy. Last I checked, the major TV networks didn't broadcast fuzzy video. Sure, net feeds are fuzzy. But if it was "clearly a piece of paper" then why haven't clear shots shown up of it? Obviously, because they don't exist. And they don't exist because only the fuzzy shots leave room for debate about what

What I find shocking is how many people are crediting Bush with a debate win, here and in other places. I'm with you, Draginol, Kerry definitely scored a debate win here. I think a lot of people, however, simply credited Bush with a "win" because they didn't believe or like what Kerry said. I think that's a shame, because people simply aren't listening to what the candidates have to say - either of them. They've made up their minds, and are sticking to their decisions regardless of what comes al

Interesting for high-end game players, but not completely representative of the entire market - just those who play that particular game. What I want to know is what the hell those 38 people were doing with "Centaur Hauls".. That was WinChip wasn't it? No more than 200mhz IIRC... What the heck are they doing using STEAM?

Draginol: Guess what? The cheat codes don't work in Sims 2 because of a conflict with a piece of software I *KNOW* you have on your computer. Yep, it's your very own Cursor XP. Dunno how or why, but having CursorXP enabled prevents the cheat code dialogue from coming up in Sims 2. Anyhoo... My biggest complaint so far is that if it were as hard to have a baby and raise an infant as the game shows, we'd have landfills full of dead mothers and babies and nobody would ever "woohoo

Ignoring the comments which are JoeUser specific: Liking to write regardless of promotion of what I've written and the number of comments I get is why I journal rather than Blog. The things I write are often very personal, but at other times very public, and journalling just feels better for that type of writing. If I were writing "articles" more specifically, then perhaps I'd Blog instead (and JoeUser would be the place of choice for me). For now, I'm staying with my journalling site <img src="

(sorry about no direct quotes, they don't seem to work in FireFox for some reason)... ChasUGC: I don't go through and rate everything... Typically, I rate a skin if either: 1: I have used it myself (as you all suggest) 2: I feel that it does not have the rating it deserves. If there weren't subjective criteria to rate skins, then WC wouldn't need a system where slected site members could rate skins - a single person could run down the list of objective criteria and give

I see there were some complaints that I hadn't responded to this thread. The primary reason is that I did not wish this to all turn into a big debate - had my say, and left it at that... However... I will go ahead and give a few comments: DL'ing of all skins rated: If a skin's preview looks like it was drawn by a 3rd grader, why should I even want to download such garbage? Should garbage skins never be rated as such then, because you can tell from the preview they are garbage?

I was told by an anonymous pigeon that I rate too lowly on some WB skins. With that in mind, I've tried to rate a skin more on its inherent merits rather than only whether I like it or not. So I've created a system to rate a skin. There are certain things I believe a skin must have to be useful, and lacking them means it is less than perfect. 1: Needs to be original. Recolored versions of Luna, Longhorn, etc are not original. If it's a MAC clone skin, it needs something that sets it apa

The problem I've encountered looking for explorer.exe replacements, is that they don't *really* replace explorer.exe's functionality. They replace part of it - ie, being a file manager. What they don't do, specifically, is the control panel. Some parts of the control panel *require* that explorer.exe be loaded to function, so even if you direct link them with control.exe, and the options for which panel to show, it will reload explorer into memory.
