Okay....I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, or getting the wrong starting tech to have the better capital. Anyone know of all the differences between custom races and regular races...i.e. how many points they get for technology, attributes, etc.

New player question here: When I'm starting out, I notice that my first planet has an initial colony structure, however, I could have sworn that I started one game and had a colony structure that required no maintenance. Am I just crazy, do all planets (including your homeworld) start with an initial colony structure (13 bc maintenance)? Or do some start with a better colony structure? Thanks. 1 more question: I colonized a planet with 600 million people, it was class 13, and I noticed that the population decreased fairly rapidly until it got to 400 million, then it started to increase again. Is there a specific level of population that can happily live on different classes of planets? If so is it written somewhere?
