torn between using start11 search and windows 11 search. I feel compelled to use start11's as if i'm going to use the start11 start menu i ought to be using that as well. that being said, its cumbersome to have to use the context menu > properties to find out the path to a result (especially when there are several) and each time you open the properties window it closes the start menu so you have to through it all again if you need to check several results. <br

nm, it seems if you have the "pretend shift is always held down" enabled it functions like the default menu in that you can combine items into a folder without a modifier. unfortunately it does not behave like the default menu in that you cant un combine items with or without the modifier. seems like a bug?

with start11 using the windows 11 style, how does one remove an item from a folder? its looking like drag and drop wont cut it, and the context menu only allows unpinning from start entirely which means you have to unpin and then re pin it just to move something outside of a folder?

hey basj. good catch. oddly enough "company settings sync" was the give away. it is the "work folders" feature which I certainly did disable. would probably serve stardock to put in place a check for that and rename the key (what i did as opposed to deleting it) or ignore it via whatever means they deem the best solution in order to prevent that from happening. people add and remove windows features all the time so i can only imagine this might rear

Similar to what you can do with the modern style, id like to be able to remove the account picture from the 7 style. this is for two reasons, 1 being the aesthetic, the other being that with it enabled if you have your menu set to animate it will animate the menu but not animate the account image portion so it will instantly appear in its final location while the rest of the menu catches up. looks awful that way. Another welcome option would be a toggle to di

I'm sure its simply missing the registry entry for it or whatnot but if i choose for example Modern theme without icon for the modern style, then swap to another start menu style, upon changing back it reverts. Same goes for changing the windows 7 style start menu theme to default theme with black edges. Any deviation from the windows 7 theme resets this setting. figured id mention it in case you guys werent already aware.

when using the modern or windows 7 start menu style and setting the control panel quick access to function as a flyout/menu as opposed to a link, the result is an item coming up as blank. clicking on its does nothing, its just stuck there. As this is a pretty fresh 11 install, i can only assume it was an item present until culled via turning windows features on/off or uninstalling it. after booting up a win11 vm and looking at the control panel, nothing is situated alph

I've used open-shell for a lotta years to great effect. unfortunately it seems to be going unmaintained relative to windows 11. fortunately for me, ive been a stardock fan/product user for just as long so i had few qualms about adding to my suite with start11. a few things i've noticed missing here which id find very helpful to have added. 1) the ability to hide the universal apps folder (and the apps therein) from the all programs list independently of th

You know.. there’s times where even a facepalm doesn’t cut it. Burning the candle at both ends lately I guess. I shoulda known better lol. I apologize. At least it’s here for future settings seekers I suppose. I assume the same key is used for all stardock software settings? Groupy/fences/start11 etc? HKLM not HKCU?

I've exported and imported the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Multiplicity2 registry key. I've checked programdata. ive checked appdata/roaming and appdata/local. I've got nothin. I'm trying to keep this backed up so I dont have to reconfigure every time i re-install but for the first time, i'm stumped. Are you guys like saving it in some kind of obfuscated file in the program files directory or something?

yea, if it were only that simple that is the route i'd have been taking since time immemorial lol (changing primary monitor). That then forces everything under the sun to open on my accessory display. For modern and/or well written applications, sure you can choose the monitor you'd like to open on. For every one you can, theres two you cant however. also not as niche as you'd think. that very request has roughly 17000 upvotes (most commented on feedback hub) but

So i just installed the beta of start11 for a trial run. I finally begrudgingly installed windows11 and one of the main reasons im a holdout is due to the inability to have access to my system tray/running applications on a non primary monitor. As a multi monitor user I need this stuff on an accessory display, not on my display in front of me that is often obscured by something running fullscreen. nonetheless, i had hoped this could do it, as star

So as i transition all my pc's to windows 11, im given an opportunity to revisit settings on things like multiplicity. im curious about the "only allow" settings. Do these have any bearing on speed? Is it purely a security/preference thing? What are the defaults since ive already perverted them and dont see them listed anywhere. Do i want to have "only accept audio from same subnet" or "only accept connection from same subnet" or "clipboard same s

sheesh. still not it. seems windows 11 wants to see the virtual adapters as and keep them as a public network. this results in creation of public firewall rules (as they somehow get priority at startup irrespective of the metric set) and Troubleshooting blocked inbound network traffic on Windows Vista or later after installing a VMware product (1004813) is already applied in the registry yet seems to not take ef

think i got it sorted. been so darn long i couldnt remember the specifics so setting the interface metric in and of itself isnt good enough because apparently it negotiates on the fly. you need to go into the adapter and go to properties > ipv4 > advanced > and uncheck automatic metric. I did it for both ipv4 and ipv6, unsure if both are necessary but since i have both enabled i might as well start at the top so to speak. anyhow, hope that

yea that wont work. i use my primary monitor for full screen applications and games which obscure the taskbar and tray. the only way for me to continue working on my secondary monitor is having access to said things. If i made the secondary my primary, it would no longer be my secondary :P then everything would be opening by default on a monitor off to my side. TLDR, sounds like im staying on windows 10 until microsoft undoes their bludgeoning :P<b

Ive been putting off upgrading to windows 11 (and will continue to do so) until I can move the taskbar including tray to my secondary display instead of my primary. Whether this is via microsoft putting the option back in, or via something 3rd party like this, it doesnt matter to me. I received an email about a start11 update that now includes moving the taskbar, but it only mentioned moving it to the top of the screen. Just curious if its possible to move it to an

windows 11 is no longer beta. the RTM version is on the release preview ring which is the same thing the world will be getting in 9 days. still, irrelevant. I know fences 4 is being worked on, just wanted to mention the fact the portals arent using the new context menu in case nobody noticed it. (not sure how popular of a feature folder portals are) thanks for the reply
