It's not all about looking like vista, but people will have to get that out of their system for the first bit. In a nutshell, this just gives skinners a lot more creative freedom since they're not forced to rely on "magic pink" to make the curves and borders which often if not basically always ends up with sharp jagged edges. Transparency can be good, but full out transparency can be distracting. Eventually people will soak up the little facts like shadows and no more nasty edges and use tranparency sparingly. Till then I'm sure everyone will beat the transparent vista look into the ground like aqua.

Can't stand having 50 windows open at once or fighting the back button while getting lost 30 pages deep into a site because it doesn't have tabs? Don't use windowblinds but hate the ugly outdated primitive IE browser? Enjoy updates sooner than every 5 years? Simple solution, use firefox/opera/camino/safari/maxthon. It's not out of order saying that at all really, 3dsmax is the most used app by 3d proffesionals and mostly for video games, maya was more favored in the movie industry, and lightwave has been a longtime favorite of freelancers. It's not that much of a monopoly though, and Soft Image XSI is generating a lot of heat. So there's still 3 big dogs and a handful of smaller recognized ones. I remember I used to be in love with rhino.

Maybe it should just be rejected with a "please resubmit to these to the appropriate library" notice? If someone included a bootscreen or logon with their wallpaper and uploaded it to the wallpaper section is that not what would happen? Might help to at least clarify what each section is for.

I think the word you're looking for is "cable release" on the wire that would trip the shutter. Noise is mostly caused from the same thing as grain, too little light, or at least that's where you'll usually see it pop up.
