I think the problem is that so many of the early game buildings are terribly inefficient on 3 pop worlds, but to build a decent production base on a colony requires an enormous number of tiles dedicated to feeding it. You're looking at something like one 2-city world for every 2 worlds dedicated to farming for a large portion of the game which feels really inconsequential.

I'm playing Crusade. I think the graphic files for the Torian might be in the Mercenary DLC. Is this an oversight?
I did - it said it replaced 2 files but I didn't notice an impact. I'm playing as the Torians, it seems to only be affecting buildings that are specific to their tech tree possibly? I loaded a game as the Terrans and didn't see any of the offending buildings as options from their tech. I didn't progress into the game to see if the Terran versions would have the same problem.
Just purchased the game and started a map in the 2.5 patch. Around half of the building types don't have an icon in the menu or when I place them on the colony. Central mine, learning centers, farms, etc. have no graphic. I can build them but it's getting difficult to remember what I put where and obnoxious to have to scroll over everything each time. Anyone know why this would occur or what I can test to fix?
