Charm bar in Start8 Stardock Forums

I'm running Win 8 on an HP laptop without touch screen &I just purchased Start8. I may have misunderstood, but I thought Start8 would disable the Charm bar that pops up when swiping from right to left on the touchpad. I have selected "disable charms bar when at desktop" but the annoying charms bar still pops up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
