I hope you have something like you did for GC 3 on this...where people can be Founders and help out a bit financially and get into the alpha and such. I know I would if possible as Im a fan of most of what you make.

I noticed in the latest patch that now researching weapon systems does not give me missile or kinetic weapons. Instead you just get Beam and any special type of wps for materials and the next research past it is the 3 specializations...then comes Beam, missile, and kinetic. Now, how can i specialize in weapons that i cant even use or mount? I mean is this just a bug for me, or was this moved on purpose? And if it was moved, why? Shouldnt you get the weapon system

Its all good...im not going to mess around with it much, since there are so many uber awesome people like yourself who can do this. Im wondering if in the future if I will be able to have the ships become available as I progress doing the complete line of the Hull research...that way(since ive told you before how I play very slow research games) I can have each tech reveal a new hull(s).

LOL I just noticed you changed your name haha... So if i want the defiant to be a huge ship I can change that then? I thought you had already defined the ships at certain levels already, thus they were locked in.

Very Very nice Rand...and thanks for explaining on them. I was wondering if your designs can be used or designated as "prototypes" when we find those special elements in game to make them so? If so, which ones or will that be up to us to decide?

I love seeing these and how things are changing, but just curious...what would happen if you switched and you were the Dreng? Would the Terrans then make the same mistake(s) the Dreng did? Are you going to have to do these for each race then and if so, wouldnt that make it very hard to balance, considering the traits and bonuses some of the other factions get? Not to mention, what will the AI do with custom civs we make or if they play against them?

Basically a way to try and limit how fast you can expand by slapping you with an unhappiness penalty. There is a trait that custom factions can take that eliminates that, which is helpful if you are going to go crazy. Cant imagine how bad it would be on a huge huge map...but if you are getting -6 for 6 planets...yikes!! Never have liked stuff like this anyway. Why the heck would anyone be upset about more joining your culture...would we be ticked off here in the States

As i play my custom civ and dont like my start, i go to the main menu, and start a new game and it amazes me how I will get the same map, planets, and bonuses tiles almost everytime! I usually have to load another race, start game, quit out, start a new game with my custom faction and will get a new map that way(usually but not always...the only sure way is to close the game and then start it up again). Otherwise, its the same one over and over. Was wondering if anyone else

Yup used those settings and even on very slow. Even went into pacingdefs.xml(which is what those settings modify) to play with them. I have made some changes to the improvements xml, and changed the base value of the research buildings a tad and that is looking like its a winner.

Howdy all, Was hoping to get a bit of help and/or insight into slowing down research. I like to play on games with a very slow research rate, because...well because I like it like that. In GC 2 this was simply fixed by changing all the values on research and boom...I was happy. Just to let you guys know(and I know this isnt a game bug) but when you click on the link from the steam page talking about the .2 update...that link takes you to a discussion on the .1 update. Had me confused for a bit, but I was guessing that Lord Frog was just testing me to see if i could figure out what was going on. I love Rand Johnson's ships...lol call me a fan boy, but I sit there and just watch them in the viewer and replay battles over and over. Cant wait until I can mod the game with other Star trek stuff like phasers, toprs, both graphics and sounds(well hopefully that will be possible). Did this in GC 2 and loved it haha.

I remember in GC II that someone was making Star Trek ships, and I had asked them to look at the Chandley Class and they said it was a great looking ship, but trying to make it was like impossible haha. Its is a rather different looking design, but I have loved that ship ever since the FASA ST game!! I had been playing this ship before ST WoK came out and this ship actually had an aft torpedo on it, so when I saw the Reliant shooting aft torpedoes, I was like "pfft...old news haha

They are simply awesome looking...especially in my current game where ive chosen a black color for the hull...they looked wickedly beautiful, imho! You have done a fantastic job!! I mean I cant wait til the game is complete and I can have all the various uber looking ships, that we have seen on these pages, in my game. How awesome would that be!! Cant wait!!

This is part 2 of my video on Rand Johnson's great and awesome ST ships. Its 16 mins long, but I wanted to try and show how awesome they look. You can tell at times that the moving of the ships wigs out on me...and I noticed that it almost was acting as if it was going to lock up, so I hurried up a bit.
