In the future, if someone wants a serious response, they should consider better titles. Having some guy come on and declare that the AI isn't smart AND that it cheats is a bit off putting and erroneous. Completely agree...was very bad taste, but it sparked a decent conversation at least. <b

Is it possible that it may also share knowledge gleaned from scout vessels? In a large multi-race map perhaps enemy scout vessels not only discover habitable worlds for their race, but also for the other AI? Just a thought. If this were true, it would be very disturbing to say the least. Interesting theory though. <

Change the class name after you finish your alterations. Can you expand on that a little? All I've see are name changes, not any kind of class change. Plus, when I go to upgrade, my obselete ships show up. But even when I *know* I pick the correct one to upgrade to, I get a couple errors: 1) Sometime my ship won't let me upgrade i

under the influence of what, i never quite udnerstood influence from the turtorial? and saying that, i just build random starbases in random paces cuz that starbase and how to build one is dead breif? How about you read the manual? You know, the instruction booklet? Though given your writing skills,

Coming here and accusing the staff of bad QA testing (especially when most people seem to disagree with you) will not get positive results. This is one of the most devoted group of game designers *and* gamers I've ever seen. Why would you even say such things to them? Can't you see how different they are than most companies? Please don't do this anymore. While it would be wonderful to get bugless games, it's just not feasible in the so

SmackleFunky - That was very interesting. I'm disappointed that Brad hasn't found this to also be true...hopefully they will reproduce this in-house (or cover up the scandal somehow, heh) and find a fix so that we can play a fair game.

I have the CE and all the bonus material, but for the life of me can't remember seeing any extras that would do that. I have built like 10 ships thus far...do they look like the little light accessories? I'll have to dig deeper this evening.

Flipping hardpoints makes things easy, though I wish I could turn the direction the hardpoint's facing outward rather than on a single axis. Most of the designs I've build recently bear no resemblance at all to their original hulls. I think I've even figured out a way to include long cylindrical sections to the ships themselves.<

Whats up wiht minor civ AI? Seriously these guys are in love with influence starbases, which makes no sense since they cant have any representalbe cultrue on the map. Ive seen networks with maybe up to a dozen minor civ influence starbases in other civs territory. This is just a tremendous waste of cash <br

Althoughh I just discovered that you can build a freighter in an industrial planet then you send it to orbit in a good economy planet, then to its destination, it will set up the link from the last orbited planet to the opponent planet. Nice touch! I did not know that! Great find. <TABLE

I agree. Tech trading needs to be drastically reduced. I want to be able to research and build (expand) my empire a bit more slowly, but this has not been the case. Often, I have to grab 3-4 techs a turn just to stay competitive. I would rather advance slower and enjoy my new ship options as they come. As it is, I had 5 new techs in my last turn, making it all go by too fst for me, and this just to stay in the race. Give us options to r

It's easy guys... what "generation of that tech" is it? Laser II or Laser V? How long in general did it take you to research it? A little-bit or a lotta-bit? Get it? Any tech there is, the AI wants, and so should you. It's not difficult to get a good trade, and I often request credits along with the AI's tech because mine are worth more and I know it. </TABLE

1) Give us better and easier control over typing text. As it is now, I usually end up with my cursor at thebeginning of the word (no matter where I click) and have to hit 'end' or use the arrow keys to get to the end so that I canthen delete the word. And then I can't usually delete a letter to add a new value, say I want to rename my ship from Viper Mk1 to Viper Mk2...nope, I have to type the whole thing over again because backspace usually deletes all the text. Annoying as all

Since i patched and ran the enabler (they both went fine) does that mean i have the collector's edition goodies? Sounds like it. The only 2 things you didn't get are the shiny CE box and the tech tree, which can be downloaded.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, sometimes my music will platy at 3x the level I set it to (seems like it goes to 100% max), and when I go in to audio options, and touch the slider, the sounds reverts to the level it should be at.

Early in my game, I had to quit for dinner, and reload later on via auto-save (I also tried earlier quicksaves), and all of a sudden the anomalies became invisible. Reloads, game restarts, system restarts all did not fix it. Using what I believe are the latest drivers for my Radeon 9800XT. I can still mouse over the anomalies if I get lucky, and was even able to grab 1 with my surveyor...but this is odd. Is there some kind of option (though I can't imagine 1 for this) for this th

When I loaded from my savegames, both auto and quick, all the anomalies disappeared. If you find them, they can still be clicked on and grabbed by surveys...but they are invisible (and I'm not talking mini-map)! I tried reloading the game and my system. Nada. Unless I hit a wrong key by mistake, in my first game, after a reload (from both auto + quick), I lost visual on ALL anomalies in the universe. I knew where one was, and could target and grab it, but they are invisible now, with no way of getting them back on screen. I tried restarting both the game and my system, but nothing. I can't imagine I hit a bad key because, why would there be a setting to hide anomalies (besides in the mini-map obviously)? Edit: I am using a Ra

Believe me, I understand your frustration. We have it too. I won't go into details but suffice to say we have our frustrations on this too. It's no one's fault in particular. We were told that all pre-orders from all sources in NA would be fulfilled with the CE version. But that turned out not to be the case. The only difference between the two version is that C
