This will probably be considered an exploit and be fixed after posting this. It does make the game trivially easy once you do it. Planned on exposing a few of these, but with only being allowed 3 posts/replies as a new member ill just do this one. Gather as many resources as possible (Durantium, Elerium etc), this worked really well for me since I usually set them to be common or abundant. Also, I set minor races to be common, which made this even easier

[quote who="jdblue82" reply="3" id="3603549"] Quoting , quoting post You get to reply to like 3 things in a day, im not even sure I did that many today after coming back to answer the couple threads I started last night. Horribly restrictive to the point I didn't even get a chance to post the suggestions I had yesterday or tod

Guess ill just read these and not bother trying to post/reply if I have to string it out over weeks just to reply and thank people for answering the couple posts I made. Will just say

I have only played it through a few times now, guess they just get lucky every time. My last game I quit they were more that double what any other empire was including my own, didn't finish that one but man do they seem to jump out to a huge power advantage every game in every facet.

Do the Drengin get a bonus that their other other cpu counterparts do not? Every single game I play with them they get nearly double the power of any of the other races, when I look at the graphs its not even close on every single stat that is measured. I usually play on gifted.

To be honest the type of ships it gives me is not optimal, but I might still occasionally go for that skill if there was no upkeep associated with the ships it gives you. As is, I seriously doubt anyone at all ever goes for this skill unless their plan is just to get it to decommission them all for $ in large games where you have enough planets to make it worthwhile. Anyone who has taken the final skill in that line that reads this let me know. Am

This is probably on here somewhere, but for those that haven't seen it yet, here is a way to get the wheel back. Sadly it seems tied to every planet now instead of just one so I guess ill just put this game on a shelf for a while until the next patch comes out and see if once its added as a trait you will be able to individually manage all your planets. Seems useless and broken to take a micromanage type ability like the wheel and use it to macromanage you

Last game I played I tried going a different route than my usual research boosting ideology. This time I picked the one that gives you 2 free defending ships for each planet. It wasn't an insane map, I had around 10-12 planets and when I finally researched it out, all it did was cripple me financially. I went from making 12 or so credits per turn to losing 200 something per turn. I was then left with the annoying task of manually decommissioning them all while grumbling

I saw that the wheel was coming back in the form of racial trait in 1.5, can anyone confirm this? Sad to see it will be a trait, now I will have 2 traits (or basically all my traits) that I feel compelled to have making all the other choices kinda pointless to me. Since I play on bigger maps I already have to have the one to offset low morale for having a big empire, now I will have to have this as my second :( . Doesn't seem logical to me, shouldnt I have

Agreed , ai is really quirky about where they send their ships. I had a game where Black holes were set to be fairly rare and I had only one in all my space. 3 different empires sent all their trash ships there and just parked for rest of game til I got sick of it and killed them all. Tried to pretend they were all trapped in the gravitational pull to make it seem logical and add to the fun but they just kept coming like I was handing out credits. Was weird, once I kill

Have to agree with OP and the post above me by Bruce. Saying you don't HAVE to do it to win is a waste of thread space. You don't HAVE to use ideology to win or when the wheel was around you didn't HAVE to micromanage it to win or build ships over medium size, and on and on. Most people like to get the most efficiency they can out of their planets and bases, so its only natural if you can build 4-5 you feel like you are wasting $ etc if you aren't. Personally I ne
