You are thinking along the lines of what we're thinking. But more specifically, what we want to do is set up a system where the player is creating an intergalactic government complete with governors, senators, etc. This is long going to happen in 1.4 but this is the direction we want to see the game go.
I imagine you're still working on the details. But do you envision a level of play
Quoting Frogboy, reply 3 The global wheel is staying. But the idea that players should have to monkey around with a per, planet spending like that is really off putting. It was something new we tried and it just doesn't work. It has nothing to do with the AI one way or the other.

>> The cube curve overtakes the square curve at: if n=4 and X^2=X^3/n, x*x = x*x*x/n : x=4 or 1+3 in modifiers: i.e. 300% Because prod is an independent variable and should be treated separately, I think the equation to solve is: 2 * x + 1 = (x + 1) ^ 2 / 4 or x^2 - 6 * x - 3 = 0 The solution we want is then x = 3 + 2 * sqrt 3 = 6.46. My algebra is a little rusty, so might be an error in there somewhere. But I think it's in the rig

Interesting analysis. If I'm interpreting it correctly, it looks like you have to have to be well into the game before the real impact of this is felt. The cross over point is roughly 1400% in total bonuses: 8 * 8 * .25 * prod = 16 * prod Alternatively if you had put all 1400% in research and had 100% research you'd have 15 * prod. At 1000% in bonuses you get 11 * prod all in research or with the hybrid: 6 * 6 * .25 * prod = 9 *

How much RAM do you have? I have 6 GB myself and I have the same kind of problems (and have basically stopped playing for the time being). But it looks like people with more RAM are having much more success. Here's a thread... https://forums.galciv3.com/461117/page/1/#3521281

I'm seeing something very similar. Core i7 with 6 GB of RAM and a Radeon 5800. Not a top of the line setup, but shouldn't be unplayable.

I have a similar issue- except that it freezes for 5-10 seconds and then resumes again. Almost like the game is thrashing the graphics card RAM or some such thing.
