Donpraxter: unfortunatly no not at this time. ObjectDock does however save the current configuration to your Application Data folder within your user profile, and so I'd imagine if your user profile (the root folder where all your documents, app data, desktop files, etc are stored) is on that partition that you can write to I'd imagine it'd work. Not positive about how you go about moving that however

omfgitsronlolz: I'm willing to bet that you're using an older version of ObjectDock. Versions prior to v1.5 had this problem on Vista. v1.5, as well as the beta of v1.6 (on Stardock Central, currently for plus-customers only), don't have this problem. Give it a try!

I'm taking this Beta-Period time I have here to take a shot at patching up the ZOrdering system ObjectDock uses for its zooming docks. The next v1.6 update on Stardock Central (likly Tuesday) will have these changes. Please try out the build tuesday and see how it works for you!!

Hah. Ah. Sorry, read wrong. No ObjectDock previously did not automatically change the title of the dock item to reflect the name of the CD in the drive. Though as noted, ability for it to do that automatically has been put on the list -Jeff

Not a bad suggestion, it would be nice if they updated to show their titles...additionally wouldn't mind an option where inserted drives (USB, etc) automatically show up in the dock. But, unfortunatly the queue is very full! (And that would require adding detection for if the user edited the title themselves thus meaning I shouldn't change the title...) I've added to my notes list however, thanks for the good suggestion. -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

jaximflash: no, not currently any hotkey. But I am heavily considering adding on and adding a spot for it on the main screen. People playing games and whatnot often have requests to temporarilly turn off ObjectDock but don't want to unload it, etc. Hrm. What say the populus - good idea to add a hotkey to temporarilly hide/disable objectdock? I imagine the first time you hit the hotkey it would hide it, bring up a dialog saying you hid it and telling you how you can show it again with a checkbox

ah yes. on mouseover for tabbed docks its currently not possible. if i can think of a low-impact way to make it possible that'll be enabled on tabs too. hrm. similar with it detecting if its on the edge. i've thought about fixing that but it might end up looking wierd. but i guess it'd be better than it being offscreen. its in my notes to work on, anyways.

MySecret: yeah I should be adding more user-notification on the Tray side of it too. The tray module also checks file integrity before it can operate. Currently, failing silently if those checks fail. So if a file has a single byte messed up by the download, it won't work. Since I've definitely heard of people having install problems before, this could be the case. Leading me to think so based on that both of these modules appear to be silently not working. In the next refresh I'll have them rep

By the way, regarding Weather retrieval...that's definitely something that has the most kinks in it. Not in ObjectDock itself but in our new feed from AccuWeather which we've set up, its still pretty new. Its not quite forgiving, and sometimes looks for specific things. E.g. state names can't be spelled out currently, places in Canada need the providence appreviation not country name, some sites are just plain missing from the feed data, etc, particularly overseas. Also sometimes we've had serve

thomassen: alright, i got the inspiration to do it fixed for the next refresh that we have which should be sometime probably start of/early next week. added lightweight code to detect if an icon has been crappified by explorer and if so it loads the regular size version. no more mini-icons Cavan1: good callout. I'd recommend disabling MCP if you don't need it for ObjectBar (which will be updated also to use this new module) - the new OD+ doesn't use it.

FYI: the refresh of ObjectDock v1.6 Beta is now up on SDC! v1.58a[b].009. Fixes most of the things reported thus far. The flashing one was quite annoying so wanted to take care of that sooner rather than later, and the new restore technique for the minimize/restore animation should near completly clear up any compatibility problems (e.g. trillian.) Thanks for the great feedback everyone!!

thomassen - which icons are doing this? If its several, could I see a small screenshot? I know what you're talking about, but trying to figure out a way around it. Getting icons, when i can, directly from Windows/Explorer can provide for more acure/high-quality icons much faster than loading them manually which is why i set that up...but not sure at this point how to detect if an icon is just a square with a box. I might end up having to actually look at the image and use some programma

Not currently. I am considering adding a hotkey to temporarilly hide & disable all of ObjectDock / press again to reshow. Would this help you at all? -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

Known problem with pre-v1.5 ObjectDock. Have you tried updating to the latest version? Let us know if updating does not solve your problem. If you'd like also, try v1.6, a recently updated Preview/Beta of the next release with lots of good Vista features! It's available now on Stardock Central

That's a good idea. I already have a lot of options though. Not sure that might be something we might just need to decide if we want to have it do as a new standard behavior or not, or if that kind of thing should have its own option. DOesn't quite seem option-worthy, its kindof a good-idea-or-not-good-idea kindof thing. From Microsoft putting it in all of their recent OS's, probably lends itself closer to "good idea" i suppose <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Ew.gif" border=0 alig

Koasati: WinCustomize, no. weather1.sdcentral.net, yes. And if that were to go down, weather2.sdcentral.net, etc. That's where the new weather module connects to to get its data. The deal is, we've partnered with AccuWeather to get our data in a completly legal and better controled way. The other side of it though is we have to host the service for providing data that they upload to us every hour, and we're ironing out some kinks, but it's been going for a month or so now and has been working ov

DigiCHET: Shouldn't need a code, you should be able to type in the location AccuWeather recognizes and it should show up. Given we did have some problems early on with missing locations...even places like Berlin weren't matching up :S Hoping this is closer to cleared up though. Update on your problem Zubas, I installed Trillian so that I could reproduce and was able to 100%. Tried some things and think I found a workaround, but again hoping that more problems don't arise with "funk

Just the kindof stuff we were looking for Thanks for the reports - the flashing bit fixed for the next refresh. Had to redesign the taskbar functionality due to Vista's UAC and that piece got messed...it would "flash" whenever the title of a window changed. Should be refreshing tomorrow Zubaz - able to reproduce the losing of the window at all? That's odd that it would move...ObjectDock never moves the wi
