[quote who="lyssailcor" reply="144" id="3691725"] Why not using a simpler system? Like that (surely more than 3N, but the difference between a just colonized planet with one low tech building and a fully settled planet with a lot of high tier buildings may well be 100N in my opinion): - Every tier 1 building produces 1 point of output flat (factories 1 point of production, research labs 1 point of research, markets 1 point of wealth) - Specialization occurs through

3N seems like more of a problem than 100N in an empire builder game. I mean Earth starts out with one developed tile and nine empty ones. Currently you can cover the planet in farms and cities. Even if you limited it to one cities, you'd still be able to cover it in factories and labs. Plus their are building upgrades, as well as tech improvements throughout the game. 3N seems very impractical. Like in some ways it seems like there are too many buildings as it is. If planets are ba
treborblue, One good thing about your idea is that it seems like it would be both fairly easy to balance and would allow for specialization.
To me it would be cool if every building, component, etc. requires a specific output and factories, labs, and wealth improvements turned raw production into output. I mean it could be as simple as a laser requires 50 Parts 1, or it could be as complicated as a Doom Ray needs 160 items but they are spread amongst four components - 30 Advanced Quantum Subspace Electronics, 30 Advanced Nano Metatube Casings, 50 Advanced Graviton Capacitors, and 50 Anti-tachyon Switches.
Normally I don't rate anything, but I rated GC III and Crusade on steam. I would hate if the game stops getting updated. As far as ideas goes it would be nice to be able to select what tech era you start in.

Is it just me or do Galactic Citizens remind anyone else of civ 4, 5, 6 great people when they settle in a city?
I disagree. If you have a task that is CPU limited you want to buy the cheapest item that meets your minimum requirements. Amd may be cheaper, but if intel out performs it, and I need a certain level of performance AMD doesn't provide, then I have to skip it for intel. Because if all you need to do is check email and browse the web, then there are perfectly acceptable 80 dollars tablets or 60 dollar phones running cheap ARM SOCs on the market. Either AMD is fairly competitive, unlike

I guess the current shape of Microsoft's store, along with windows 8 and windows 10 is in part to blame because of the stagnation of the x86 CPU. Think about it, there is as much distance from a Pentium MMX

Last year, the big lie was Microsoft was going to start charging subscription fees for Windows 10. The big lie this year is that they will make win32 stop working and UWP will only work with the store. I don't see any of those things happening. As far as they spying goes, I don't think anyone has proved that Microsoft ISN'T doing exactly what it says its doing with the telemetry. I am far more worried about what Google does with my data. Well it looks like there won't be a new trial and Gawker Media owes Hulk Hogan 140 million dollars. So they did what they could I guess and declared bankruptcy. I'm glad to see them go, though I will slightly miss io9 and jalopnik. As for the rest of their properties, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of organizations. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-gawkerme

I have windows 10. Most of my stuff works perfectly, but a couple of my steam games don't work on it. Though to be fair they didn't work on windows 8.1 either. Supreme Commander 2 and the 10 year old version of star wars battlefront are two I know don't work. Everything from GOG and Origin work. Also, everything that I've bought that is like 4 years old or newer works perfectly.
[quote who="Heavenfall" reply="6" id="3601823"] There's not really any big deal surrounding hardware or software issues with win10. The issues that have been focused on so far is privacy - you literally cannot turn off sending data to MS. And to a lesser degree the unclear revenue stream for MS because they gave it away for free to most people. (Those issues are probably connected, obviously). There's a vocal group on these forums that take these issues seriously. But if your que

[quote quoting="post"] Planet Specialization Planets in Galactic Civilizations III can be specialized much more than in previous versions. An industrial world, through adjacencies, can result in massive bonus manufacturing. However, on top of that, players can direct their citizens to work more in those factories via the global production wheel (and previously the local production wheel). So let’s talk about what that actu
[quote quoting="post"] I love my Surface Pro 3. Windows 10 has transformed it from something I occasionally fiddled with to my primary mobile device (replacing my iPad and MacBook Pro combo for trips). But it is, by no means, perfect. The weaknesses of the Surface Pro 3 include: It is almost 1.8 pounds. That's really too heavy to use as a tablet for an extended period of time. <
I've been playing it on my xbox one and it's the best looking game I've seen on the console. I can just imagine what it looks like on a top of the line rig on a 4k monitor/tv on the pc. The music is really great too. It's not the greatest game, and I'm not sure how much longevity it'll have, but for it's great if you're looking for some mindless fun.
