I think the begining of the article is a little too hard on GCI. Yes, GCII is totally awesome, but the begining of the article makes GCI sound like it was bad. This game isn't a polictical game. If your party gets voted out techincally the game should end!!! (That wouldn't be a very fun space empire game!!!) If you want to play a relatistic political game, play Prime Minister Forever. (Stardock makes one called the Political Machine, though I haven't personally played it personally.)

Yeah, I agree with some of the above posts. Galactic Civilizations would get a major benfit from a tiny tweak to the invasion system, namely: 1. Have only a percentage of the population willing to fight, that varies depending on cultural influence. 2. When using a transport to launch an invasion of an enemy system, I can't help but notice that the enemy population (AKA "taxpayers") *ALL* fight to the death!!! You can use information warfare, which can can convert 20-40% of the unhappy population, but other than they ALL fight to the death. That doesn't make ANY sense!!!
