Preparedness Center from the Neutral Ideology. Those two are all you really need anyway since you cannot exceed 100% Resistance....even though you can go over 100% Planetary Defense for some reason.

Actually, Immune to Culture Flipping is a Malevolent Ideology. it is the fifth trait in the last series for Malevolent. As long as a faction does not have that trait or a colony does not have too high of a resistance, you can culture flip it.

Did you configure your mouse wheel so that it acts as the third button? Most modern day mouse needs to be configured before they will behave as you would expect outside of the default left and right clicks.
Is it possible to pin this down using the cheat mode? After all, this is the third time this happens to me and we now have several hypothesis what could have happened.
You will not see the money grant using God Mode, but it is in the game's code. The AI is set to have a fixed chance to receive grants at regular intervals, which, IIRC, is around every 10 turns. That is not all, however.... If you look closely at the timelin

The AI has a small chance of getting free tech and money (among other things) on higher difficulties. This is most likely where you see the 5K out of nowhere. They also get free Ideology points, so it is likely that they used Ideology to unlock traits that grant free ships.

The problem is that manufacturing improvements(mainly the so called "All Construction" improvements), such as the factory, have their or listed as "MaxManufacturing", but the Plasma Furnace-B has its (and for that matter) listed as just "Manufacturing." The Furnace is looking for improvements where the or is listed as "Manufacturing," but onl

The value of trade depends on a few factors, such as how much they like you and what trade bonuses you have. If your relation is at -10, any modification you make to the trade will result in it turning into a "joke" for the AI. I am not sure what the AI uses to weigh its trades, but it never makes balanced (or even reasonable) deals. I once had an AI faction with half my power and +10 relations asking for Beyond Mortality while only offering up one weapon support tech and a few hundred credit
Interesting. I'm a little leery of modding this in; destroying an improvement the engine isn't expecting to be destroyed sounds like a good way to cause things to get out of whack.
Yeah, as mentioned, the engine has no expectations for the actual value in this attribute. It merely checks this attribute to determine whether it will let you destroy an improvement or not. This is actua

I find improvements being indestructible is one of the stupidest things ever. Fortunately, if you are so inclined, you can easily fix this yourself with an XML editor. Just open ImprovementDefs.xml, find and replace true with false on the improvements that you want to be destructible, and problem solved.
Yuck! Thanks for the info! Has anybody at StarDock said anything about when they will get it all fixed?
The elemental extractor uses a so called, instead of the usual that pretty much every other normal Wealth improvement has. This seem to imply that the bonus is added directly to the final net value of your GDP instead.

It is not just that. Many of the Lost Treasures DLC improvements do not work properly, such as the Furnace-B, which has its improvement type listed as "Manufacturing" instead of "MaxManufacturing," which means it does not provide level bonuses to manufacturing improvements, and it does not receive adjacency bonuses either.

Funny thing for me, I only experience the lag when I click on a black hole, especially if I am moving a ship. If I am moving a ship, the game will lag for about 3 seconds before it will course correct to the next nearest hex that can be occupied. Pre 3.0, there was no lag when doing this. Have you tried reinstalling your game? Any hardware issues? Do you still get the issue if you reduced the number of players? I get major speed boost when I decre
I cannot really comment on that since I never play to that stage in the game. But wouldn't making only one ship mean that you get flagged "ripe for conquest" and get ganged up upon by the AIs?
I wish they would. :D But no, my endgame ships are worth between several hundreds to thousands of military power each, so having one fleet is enough to tower over the rest.
But most importantly: all combat takes place between fleets. So I don't really get your fixation on individual ship designs. I mean, you don't send your ships one by one to your enemy, do you?
Against the AI? One ship is all it takes. lol
Design a small or tiny support ship with nothing but sensors. According to the xmls, last I checked, fighters take 3 turns to respawn. Unfortunately, the best "single" ship outside of carriers is really just a ship with tons of capacity and specialized in one weapon type with all corresponding support modules and the Bane (since it is normally limited to 1). This is because numbers in the game can easily trump any single powerful ship. There really is no trick or gimmick to it. This game's ship combat system is pretty straightforward.
So do I gain the effect of 3 pop, or 17, or something in between?
Your population is 17. You gain the full effects of your 17 pop. However, due to being over your pop cap, you will lost pop at the rate of 0.1 per turn until it is less than or equal to your pop cap.
