Nice breakdown. I noticed this, but I guess I just instinctively worked around it. I start from the highest tier terraformers and work backwards, from mid-game on; to maximise the amount of usable space you can generate, even if they aren't tiles that will benefit from adjacency bonuses. As far as features go, this would be really cool. It was promised, I think a Dev said it was in briefly and then was taken out. I doubt it's priority though. I look forward to the day the feature is re-implemented, but I'd rather the game itself be the focus.

I get you. The problem is essentially sudden growth that you weren't planning for. I feel the same way about enemy factions colonizing crappy planets in my zone of control and then I inevitably annex them and have yet another low class, tactically insignificant planet to manage. It occurs to me that, when in a war situation with another faction, that if I want to bring the conflict to an end in a manner that is not total destruction of one side then I must always pay for it. I disliked that the Yor were the only standard Synthetic race, and are Malevolent. The blue lighting (and I know there's a red counterpart) will probably edge me to making them Benevolent rather than Pragmatic, and I'll probably build the faction as highly pacifist and research focused.
