I can confirm what JorgenCAB said. If you go to the Tech Tree, you can select a technology a few steps ahead. All research that turn will get applied to reach that tech, possibly completing research on multiple techs.

I feel your pain. I even detailed a lot of it too over on https://forums.galciv3.com/466284/page/1 Hopefully Stardock will get on presenting strategic information in a strategy game better.
Thanks, Einbaucschrank. Hopefully some thing like this can come about. Another add on, you can't even see strategic resources (antimatter) in the minimap. :(
I played GalCiv3 a bit at a friend's house. I like it, a lot, but not enough to buy it in its current form. In short, this strategy game needs a better way to handle strategic information. I kept asking myself, "Are my survey ships headed to the right anomolies and not clustering up? Are my constructors heading to the best resource patch?" The minimap needs a full screen version. Or better yet, a way to filter what is displayed in the main view.
