Is there any way to make the ship movements/battle animations go faster?

>While one ship is moving/fighting, it is possible to give other ships move orders. If you have them move into an enemy, it will queue up a battle prompt, but the prompt will not appear until all other battles have resolved. I've been doing this and it speeds things up a bit.

I'm on turn 356 of my insane map and the biggest slowdown in the game is waiting for my battles to resolve and my ships to move. This game is super fun but I find myself opening a web browser on my second monitor to fill up the time waiting.
