Heh, why do you think China and Russia have stayed in the UN after all these years?
To say no to UN resolutions? What am I suppose to do if I am actually the head of the UP? Last time I actually voted for what I merely believed to be the least harmful resolution to my plans and then actually voted against it. It doesn't make any sense. There really needs to be some way for bad guy races to actually use the UP to t

Do certain types of races use certain types of weapons more or does the AI just adapt as I asked?
I am playing as a custom race that uses the yor tech tree and I have researched what I think are all the diplo techs that grant UP resolutions. And yet recently when the UP started I saw only a handful of resolutions to vote on, and all of them looked like they are best suited for peaceful playing styles. Things like giving money to the poor, increasing trade, increasing tourism etc. Are those actually all of the UP resolutions or do you just get random ones to choose from whenever th
What is the balance between beams vs rockets vs ballistics? And what is the balance between armor vs shields? EDIT: Also, if you stick to 1 kind of weapon more than others then will the AI you are at war with adapt to it in time? And if so how quickly does this happen?
Honestly, what is the point in having a 100 factions in one game?
I don't like it how I have no idea what is going on around me. I would like it a lot of the game informs you about things like other AI's declaring war on each other or signing diplomatic and/or trade treaties.
The Altarians are easily offended but the Krynn, imo, are far more aggressive than any of the normal races. They declare on everyone, regardless of power.
I actually dow'd the Krynn first in my current game. Why is it that they are so aggressive though when the game's lore claims they aren't very good at war?
I think he was also racist towards blacks and slept with underage girls.
I notice that different ship types costs different amount to maintain. Perhaps it is more economical to use smaller ships? EDIT: It appears that this thread is in the wrong forum. It was suppose to be in the galciv 3 one.
Do smaller ship types still serve a purpose later on or is it just a case of bigger is always better?
I know that expansions are confirmed for the game, but is it know what actual features are going to be later added into the game?
To be honest, he DID support India's nuclear program. I don't think the man was actually as pacifist as he is claimed to be.
gandhi all over again!
India in the civ games (well 5 anyway) isn't actually that aggressive and in fact is very peaceful. They just like to build lots and lots of nukes in case somebody messes with them.
stuff
Yea I always thought it was very dumb how the reapers were just super advanced in-spite of having had millions of years to harvest countless races for their tech. It's even more dumb that their original creators have just been hiding in a cave this whole time and still for some reason don't seem to be any more advanced by the time the games take place then they were originally.
One thing to note about the star wars universe is that while the galactic community in Mass affect has only existed for a few centuries, the star wars universe has existed for literally hundreds of thousands of years. There is barely even any mention of pre-space civilizations in the expanded universe, and the few that are mentioned are considered utterly ancient. This is actually another problem I have with the expanded universe and also an example of "Scifi writers have no sense of
Quoting hardcore_gamer, reply 21 That still doesn't explain dumb things like pragmatic nations going to war with peaceful ones for no reason other than differences in ideas. The power of a single twin Turbolaser, to say nothing of the 8-barrel Heavy Turbolasers that are the Star Destroyer's primary weapons, is enough to melt an ice moon measuring 1000km in diameter. Let&
Why is it that 90% of the wars I have seen happen so far involve that Altarians? This is what the GalCiv wiki has to say about them: "The Altarian Republic is a kind, albeit rather self-righteous civilization whose denizens look remarkably like humans. In fact, genetic tests have proven that they are the same species. (see also <a title="Altarian Prophecy" href="https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Altarian_Pro
If you are a peaceful culture, it would make sense for a warrior culture to find this disgusting as it's a sign of weakness (remember the Klingons in Star Trek?). The Klingons could care less how nice you are, but if you punch them in the face and tell them to sit down or you'll cut down their first born child with a Klingon ceremonial blade, then you will be respected enough to be "part of the club". Speaking of AI, does it cheat or play by the same rules as the player? Also is the AI more likely to invade on certain difficulty levels?
I've lost the occasional planet because the AI snuck a transport ship into an undefended planet when I wasn't paying attention.
That's not really the same as the AI actually taking a large fleet into your empire. EDIT: Speaking of large fleets, has anyone actually noticed the AI building large fleets? The fleets I have met so far haven't been very big.
To be honest I don't even think it makes any sense to pick bonuses from more than 1 idea tree. If you want to get the really good ones then you have to specialize, so it isn't worth it to suddenly start picking bonuses from the other trees. The fact that the cost of bonuses increases as you obtain more just makes this even more true. I also disagree that pragmatic isn't neutral. On the left we have idealistic humanists, on the right we have cold realists, and in the center
To be honest I don't think pragmatic nations should actually get a relationship hit with anybody. It just doesn't make sense. Yea it makes sense that two different extremes hate each other, but why would everybody hate someone just for being a bit more moderate? I mean obviously extremists do exist, but it doesn't make sense for literally everybody to be like that. I suggest a system where "good" and "bad" races hate each other while getting a bonus to relations with their own kin
Is it just me or is the AI not that aggressive? Granted I am only on my second game but so far it seems that even when the AI army power is considered the same as my own it just doesn't send fleets into my empire. Have you seen the AI launch major attacks against you? EDIT: I should also add that 2 large AI empires are at war and have been so for some time yet I don't think I have seen any planets change hands.
If I construct a star base in deep space than can my ships travel further? Also how do influence bases work? Do they need to be built near other empire's borders?
