Glad you like this weekend I will be uploading an even larger pack. Probably 45-50 races, and at least twice as many custom foregrounds. I am having trouble locating logos online to compliment the number of races that could be created so if anybody wants to provide a bunch of these from some other project as placeholders that would be great. All help appreciated.
So, it is all kind of Ok, but feels a bit shallow, overall gameplay and diplomacy in particular.
Yeah sad isn't it. You can build 50,000 star ships now and load up every tile on the map if you want right but there is increasingly smaller and smaller backbone of depth. I mean it is almost like the single player experience was diluted so much in order to overhaul for multiplayer.

Agree, being a trade whore should be a totally acceptable Mizarian or Ferengi or any race in Starwars, method to not have to actually invent tech to use it. I also think the AI should be doing more diplomacy than sharing the same insigth like what is new to me is old to everybody else every 3-5 turns or hittng me up for money. Every single one of them.

I think this game is beginning to look more and more broken the more I learn about it. If that is the reason that is complete crap. If a galaxy with 30-50-100 other races you should be able to trade with whoever when ever and if you can make sweet deals dealing all the tech good on you. Trading another empires tech should with a diplomatic penalty not an artificial restriction. Wow. Talk about Beta.

Yeah um. So diplomacy I can declare war, or I can try to trade. But if it has been pretty recent I can't trade again for awhile? So really all I can do is declare war or piss off? I don't really understand the mechanic on this. Is how often you can trade a function of a technology? Please enlighten me on what is going on here with this...

I don't like the way the research screen makes you click the button twice to pick a research or if you exit without picking one it picks one for you. Who came up with that? Pirates vs anything without a gun on it, and no chance to dodge or evade the pirates? Great just great. So I have to escort every colony ship or watch every colony ship to make sure it don't get eaten by the space pirates? Why would the pirates even be interested in a colony ship in the first place? How abo

Im not sure I understand this. The thread is about
I'm sorry you're not liking it. The AI does its thing during your turn just like before but does have to move its units during its turn. maybe you should take a break and revisit it in a few months. I suspect you would not have thought highly of GalCiv II 1.0 either (Or MOO 1.0). Refinement in grand strategy games comes from the feedback of thousands of players over a

Nobody gave it a 0 that I can find. The lowest score is 4. Still I'm inclined to believe players are better judges than gaming review outfits which are in business to make money protecting the game companies. Look Im not saying its a terrible game or a zero I'm sure as hell not putting it up on the shelf with Skyrim or Bioshock or Doom 2 or Crysis or Master of Orion. It certainly has the Master of Orion feel yes, but it is Gal Civ. I think Gal Civ 2 was better than Maste

Wow I don't think I'd be patting myself on the back over the way it plays. Maybe sells after being promoted and the 3rd of a series but this game has no where near the depth or refinement of the previous rendition. From what I can see it also isn't satisfying a fair number of the users on metacritic either. I don't want to be too one sided but nobody has been able to trust "game" review outfits for years and so getting a high award from some gamer outfit that reviewed another

Well then I'm on par then. I just didn't understand that the game was designed such that once I hit the turn button I can't do anything until the AI is finished doing whatever it is doing. My thinking on the design or I guess past recollection of Gal Civ long ago was that the AI was cooking while you do your thing and then when you hit turn it executes its moves that it just spent time thinking about and turns were much quicker 2-3 seconds. For me I would think if you have

Which systems were this? I am running it on FX-8350 with SSD and 32GB DDR3 and it becomes unresponsive during turns, and doesn't appear to use a constant amount of cpu power during the game, very heavy during initial setup and then barely at all until you hit turn where it jams the cpu and then after it is done with its 5-10 seconds of processing is responsive again. Please don't tell me it is because AMD IPC because I am clocking around the same levels an i5 gets only with 8 cpu core

The initial setup seems to crank about 100% cpu even while in the UI in the first few moments of the game. But the UI remains responsive. It is while hitting the turn button I have issues. I am not sure if this is related to AMD or what. I would test on my intel rig but I only have 4GB or RAM so it is difficult to get the same conditions.
