The AI always does this. They send their ships to collect resources far away...then other players colonize nearby planets and they lose all the influence around those resources. The second war breaks out they lose all those outposts, and they have no backups because they didnt collect the resources in their own territory. There is a lot wrong with this AI, this is one of the problems.
There is a UP proposal that bans colonizing in another players zone of influence.
Which only lasts 20 turns. I never allowed planets in my borders to go uncolonized because of the silly part of this game where you can colonize in other peoples territory. In the tutorial I took over all of the Iconian territory by colonizing their neighbour planet. Always thought that was a really stupid game

I did not select turn limit as a victory condition in the game set up, it is off. Even when I check victory conditions in the game itself it is off." So maybe this is better called a bug. Now that I have been checking, sometimes when I load the game it counts down from 999, and sometimes I load it it says unlimited. So its either a bug where that turn limit is turning itself on and off by itself, or it is a bug there it is sometimes being listed e

I didn't select a turn limit when creating a game, but there seems to be a default 999 turn limit. Playing an Insane map size, 999 turns is not enough. Is there anyway to eliminate/disable the turn limit entirely so that a conquest game on an insane map size can actually be played properly?
have it include all the know planets in relatively the same place. Could even do the same for other things like a star wars universe map.
Its a nice idea but most planets in Sci Fi do not have a placement ie. Cardassia. And you have to keep in mind that this is a flat map and space is not flat. I've made a real star map of known Star Trek planets and it would be impossible to recr
B: Have you ever played "Birth of the Federation"? Even though the Betazoid are part of the Federation, they have a home planet and a very small fleet of a few ships, as do the Vulcans and a few others. I want to say there was even a toggle for if you wanted them as scripted allies or not at the start of the game, but it's been a long time since I've played that.
Good call, on second thou

Star Trek for sure! My ideal would be 3 sets: 1) normal Federation, Romulan, Klingon, Ferengi, Cardassian, Dominion (pleaseee don't combine Dominion and Cardassian into 1), Borg, 8472, Breen, Tholian, Gorn, Talarian, (I'd love a Tzenkethi faction but there's no cannon images at all so its unecessary). 2) for those who like an earlier time period Earth, Vulcan, Xindi, Andorian, Tellarite, Suliban, etc. basically the Enter
