Hint: Don't ever auto-resolve an invasion. Place your legions yourself and put them all on the same hex, preferably the one closest to the colony capitol.
Yeah, that's what I do. 5 Legions is generally not enough, often require two or three generals worth to take a major world. In a big galaxy with a number of worlds, that is a lot of waiting.
Yeah, I do that.

Yep. I finally fight my through wave after wave of defence and just as I am about to take my first planet from the empire concerned, they surrender, all their worlds are dead. Of course, I get their home world, which being deep in another empire defects in about 3 turns.
The "crashes" were really lockups. By memory i think they happened after I selected an attack n a world on a spacelane. Sadly I just loaded a prior save game and after a couple of further lockups it played through. I have the before (previous autosave) and post (One) of the surrendered worlds becoming dead worlds. Burrr is a case in point. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tazbxpgberix7ap/AAC58UzPVKr7DhBtMi8vlUY5a?dl=0
Experienced a few crashes running the old saved game. Had all the Mowling worlds become dead planets when they surrendered and gave them to another civ. Anyways, expect a few bugs when a version changes in the middle of a game :-).
Thanks, tried that but it is difficult to track across a big galaxy. I just ended up opening the shipyards one by one.
I have a huge galaxy with lots of planets and shipyards. I can't build a shipyard because I guess it is already sponsoring one somewhere. How do I figure out which shipyard without spending 20 minutes opening every shipyard and editing the sponsors? Wouldn't it make more sense to have the option to build a shipyard but have it warn me that doing so will take it away from the shipyard it is sponsoring or that the shipyard would be built without a sponsor?
Sometimes, in the smaller galaxies, there are no examples of a resource at all. Could we have a check that there is at least one, somewhere in the galaxy please?
Can't see any mention of administrators or ministers in summary screen
Just had V2 install. It fired up in huge (I guess last time I played), unusable slow. Quit and fired up in tiny. Still unusable. Logged out and back in, seemed a little quicker at first. Waiting 30+ seconds for screen to switch when I press colony update fr instance. Other things keep popping up in between. Had Bazaar screen pop up about 5 seconds after pressing colony edit for instance. Looks like my old machine just isn't up to it. AMD 4170 wi
How do I repair faster at shipyard/starbase? There doesn't seem to be a selection for it and just parking them there seems to make no difference.
Salvage seems to be a useless attribute beyond the early part of the game. Repair of Titan class spaceships seems to literally take hundreds of turns. I have literally captured a ship, parked it in orbit, sued for peace, had the peace expire and had the ship destroyed when they launched the next attack, all before the ship was half repaired. Is this the result of some game play "balancing" as I remember ships used to self repair reasonably quickly
Nope, never had an "ally" respond to a declaration of war on me ever. It basically seems to do nothing other than act as a way to win by allying everyone. From a strategic viewpoint, no purpose at all.
Played for hours, then crashed out to the OS without generating a dump file. Reloaded the last autosave and crashed out again after a few minutes. Will try again. If it crashes again I will lodge a ticket.
Same problem with the battle screen, has happened a number of times. Seems to be time playing based rather than a repeatable bug, memory leak?
Would like to lodge a ticket if only it worked. First attempt produced: Sorry, we encountered a problem (invalid department). Please start over. Second attempt produced: We encountered a problem (cross-site request forgery detected); please try again Sorry, we encountered a problem (invalid department). Please start over.
Sadly I have to agree with panpdx, each release seems to have been less stable than the last. Just had my first go at Beta 5. Crashed at the end of my first trade swap deal with another race, maybe 10 minutes into play.

After initial install it took a long long long time for the game to start but it did eventually. After that fine. But that isn't the waiting forever. Playing the game for awhile and then the turn button just stays on wait. Everything works ok, I can do diplomacy, give orders etc etc, I just can't progress. I have clicked on every ship, planet, starbase looking for some idle function but cant find anything. Saved the game, exited and re-loaded, still stu
My first start took a ridiculously long time. It eventually came back and ran.
Update. Crash seems to be a permissions thing. Works if I log in and run Steam from an administrator account.
